There are tons of wonky details around structures of a trial and blah blah but whatever.

Everyone gets the basics. It’s hard. Boohoo. So is living in an illegitimate fascist dictatorship.

The epistemic bubble of insecure, lawyer-brained, "we've tried nothing [we weren't already completely sure we'd succeed at] and we're all out of ideas" quitters that control the Dem Party in D.C. is absurd.

It’s considered such a humiliation to push for something when you don’t have the votes— especially in the majority where you’re expected to never hold a failing vote. But sometimes members who privately oppose might vote differently when it’s up on the board.

Exactly! But it’s considered a sign that you don’t know how things are done. Everything is supposed to be pre-arranged before the hearing or the vote. I think the reluctance to look unsavvy is one of the big enabling factors of paralysis.

Been fighting with a centrist dem on here over their claims that " impeachment is pointless because you don't have 60 votes".

As if that were something Republicans ever worried about when they've built their ***CAMPAIGNS*** against democrats

I just can’t take these arguments seriously (you need 67 though by the way haha).

Literally all sorts of crazy stuff is introduced in Congress every single day without the votes. And then you get them.

Just keep forcing questions and keep a quorum going until you figure it out!

It’s really important to not undersell what happened yesterday as it was truly historic.

Three impeachment articles got introduced this week over the objections of leadership and now leadership is too scared to formally not support impeachment when it comes up for a vote.

The problem is not having a sufficient factual record developed yet on Jan 3, 2027 to immediately impeach. It's narrowing down the list from the literally dozens if not hundreds of obvious charges where all relevant evidence is already available because he did it, dead simple, in broad daylight.

There are some needed impeachments where ideally you would want to do a good deal of fact-finding and collecting evidence because it's a genuinely complicated matter. And then there are the eighty times a day Trump looks straight to camera and says "ha ha I love doing all the high crimes."
