The New York Times investigated 346 people who donated at least $250,000 to Trump and found that more than half of them (197) have received pardons, jobs, government contracts, special treatment, or favors.
Hundreds of Big Post-Election Donors Have Benefited From Trump’s Return to Office
Well into his second term, the president and his allies have continued aggressively raising money. Many donors have interests before his administration, The Times found.

People have historically, and rightfully, seen the evil of Guantanamo, Abu Gharib, and now CECOT for what it is, but I wish more people would also see the evil in our domestic prisons too. How we treat our most vulnerable, including prisoners, really sets the tone for our whole society.
I don’t mean to sound extreme, but I don’t think we should have torture camps for people with criminal records either.

there is one and only one political strategy, and that is: “hang trump like an anchor around the neck of every single elected republican and the party itself.” no ‘friends across the aisle.’ no ‘the fever will break.’ anyone not on board with that has to go. no exceptions

The Olivia Nuzzi story and the Bari Weiss at CBS story are the same story, which is that the upper echelons of legacy media are absolutely rife with people who worship power and don't feel burdened by any sense of responsibility to their profession or the public.

My main takeaway is not so much how it demonstrates that they know they're full of shit, because we already know that.

My main takeaway is how easy it is to catch them with the simplest follow-up, and how obvious this makes it that they're not used to being asked basic journalistic questions.
HASSETT: If the Supreme Court doesn't find with us, refunds would go to whoever cut the check for the tariff

BRENNAN: Doesn't the administration claim it was the country that paid that?

Fun fact: It’s easy to keep premiums low when you only have to insure healthy people.
LANKFORD: In 2010, before Obamacare kicked in, the normal healthcare premium was $215.

HUNT: Right. But insurance companies could refuse to cover you for a preexisting condition

LANKFORD: That's true.

So deeply not kidding when I say that the current paradigm of "Gen AI" is doing deep, lasting harm to our ability to make knowledge, meaning, & truth w/ each other.

Like… it's really fucking us up & if we don't stop it soon we're gonna see a kind of negative chaos frankly unimaginable to most ppl 👍🏾

Measles had been eliminated in the US, yet cases are spreading around the country. This worsening outbreak is a predictable result of the disinformation and anti-vaccine conspiracies spread by the Trump Administration.

Safe to say based on very recent discourse: many haven’t heard this message, or bothered to see how the issue is actually playing out.
A Democrat who was elected sheriff in Pennsylvania last month hopes others are watching: “It sends a message to elected public safety officials across the country that partnering with ICE is a loser in a district that’s remotely a swing district.”

A populous swing county replaced its GOP sheriff on Tuesday after months of controversy over his joining ICE’s 287(g) program. The Democratic winner promises he’ll end the contract.

I think it's clear that in addition to documenting his crimes, Epstein was a dedicated social climber and was obsessive about documenting that too. Blurring the lines between his legal and illegal life will be essential to Trump's case.
The White House has been caught.

The administration inserted a photo of Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, and Diana Ross into the Epstein files and falsely implied it showed them with victims.

In reality, it’s a publicly available fundraiser photo featuring Jackson and Ross’s own children.
