Interesting update from @thebentway.bsky.social on connecting a series of trails under the Gardiner from Dufferin to the DVP. While I'm all for new trails in this city, I would still prefer Queen's Quay or the Richmond-Adelaide cycle tracks. #BikeTO #WalkTO #TOpoli thebentway.ca/news/toronto...

Yeah, every year those bigots will be there with bells on.
'Tis the season for the Salvation Army's We're Not Bigots Anymore PR blitz. Looking at their public facing material, you might start to believe them.

So in the festive spirit, have a 2024 SalvationArmy.org article on how trans and gay people are one of Satan's "most insidious and dominating" plots.

Fun fact: For 12 of the last 21 days, including a 9-day streak, the most-used Bixi stand in Toronto was Lippincott/Bloor. It often tops the table. Why? Your guess as good as mine. There‘s a pot shop there, but they’re everywhere. Bathurst subway station is around the corner, but it has its own stand
Yesterday there were approximately 5,619 Toronto Bikeshare bikeshare trips
Most used station: 2700 Eglinton Ave W (177 trips)
Least used station: 25 St. Mary St and 413 others (0 trips)
Active stations: 994

Mayor Olivia Chow is introducing fare capping for TTC riders in her upcoming budget. Instead of having to decide whether it makes sense to buy a monthly pass in advance, rides will automatically be free after 47 trips starting next Sept.

Common sense solutions, unless you live north of Bloor on Bathurst or Dufferin, of course.
We must not let up the momentum, and continue to fight for common-sense solutions for our communities to make Toronto a more liveable city.

HUGE legal victory: @cycletoronto.bsky.social has won its Charter challenge of the Ford government's legislation requiring removal of Toronto bike lanes! Justice Schabas ruled that the law puts cyclists at increased risk of harm and death which engages the right to life and security of the person.

The recent move by @chrismoise.ca to place those boneheaded "Walk Your Bike or Scooter" decals (along with disabling replies) is not the only recent anti #BikeTO thing he has done. He also had a short contraflow on Ontario Street downgraded from a cycle track to bike lane. #shame #TOpoli #VisionZero
