When “Can we have a trade deal?” pivots on “Do you have a kids menu?”
Menus during President Trump's Asia tour showcased local cuisine while making sure that his tastes and America First agenda were met. There were beef patties with ketchup, and brownies decorated “with the color of gold that President Trump favors.”
U.S. Beef and Thousand Island Dressing: Trump’s Food Tour of Asia
The menus on the president’s tour of three countries in Asia reflected the culinary acrobatics the host nations performed to accommodate his palate and foreign policy goals.

I love living in a country where the law about what bathroom I can use is genuinely UNKNOWABLE, it’s like something from a Joseph Heller novel
This is 100% correct. Including as to the chaos the Gender Critical Ideological Movement so beloved of Labour has now descended into as their facade of respectability crumbles like the Berlin Wall.

Damn, who could have predicted that the guy who sneered at "identity politics," boosted Tulsi Gabbard, and was happy to go on Rogan would be a big fan of this Nazi too?
Bernie about Platner,

“In all due respect, all right, what I'm worried about, 50,000 Americans may die unnecessarily? And you're worried about a tattoo?"

When I asked about his comments about sexual assault, he said "Have you served four tours of duty?" I said "I have not."

Apropos of something deeply silly: there is nothing on this Earth more obnoxious than deliberately using a word in a way no other human being has ever done and then doing a smug little dance when people judge your words by their plain English meaning.

Philosophers really are the tech bros of the humanities. Once you decide your job is thinking about thinking, it becomes really easy to convince yourself you don't need to learn a single actual fact.
What it sounds like when philosophers who are also anti-trans activists submit an amicus brief to a US court where they argue for banning trans girls and women from women's sports.

The unspoken argument behind "he was taken out of context re: killing gay people," is ultimately not that he *didn't* endorse killing gay people, but that Christians have an absolute right to call the brutal killing of gay people perfectly, divinely just without even the mildest social consequences.
This is extremely bad faith. Kirk quoted Leviticus saying gay men should be stoned to death, then called it "God's perfect law."

Pretending honest summarirs of these remarks such as "Charlie Kirk believed gays should be stoned to death" were false is itself dishonest and false.
Snippets that omit context aren't actual quotes. Kirk never said gays should be stoned, he never said he didn't want to fly with a black pilot. Yet these are viral. There is a TON of objectionable stuff he actually SAID to damn him for, without my profession sullying itself with sloppiness.

What I'm taking from the last few days is that a lot of journalists are like babies. They don't know words, but pick up on tone. So "Aww, does God's perfect law say to stone gay people to death? Yes it does, yes it does, my little baby journalist" sounds totally civil to them and they coo and clap.
One of the reasons I'm not familiar with his views is that I find they've been inaccurately or incompletely reported. When I do listen to him in full, he speaks with civility, and his full context has usually been lost. This disappoints me in my profession. That is what I'm saying.
You admitted you're not familiar with his views but are saying he argued with civility. Which one is it, Sally?

Cuz it sounds to me like you're defending him, and that's pretty disgusting and embarrassing.
