Tom Lehrer wasn't just a satirist or a musician.

He as a comedian who could quietly tell a joke and wait more than SIXTY YEARS for the payoff.

That's dedication to craft.

We lost an icon.

Main character energy is OUT, this summer we’re bringing NPC energy. We’re posted up at the bar dropping lore and suggesting side quests. We’re leaning casually near a locked door and saying “I don’t think you have the key for that” when someone tries the handle. We’re staring at a tree.

Maybe corny but it was helpful for me to hear Henry Rollins saying "this is not time to be dismayed, this is punk rock time, this is what Joe Strummer trained you for... You can be thunderous in your own life, to the eight people around you. That rubs off... Goodness is viral"

There is a non-zero chance that the former president who is running to be elected thinks migrant asylum seekers are actually migrants from from "insane asylums" and the press continues to treat him seriously.
Credit to @pblest.bsky.social from over on Twitter: Trump confirms that he has no idea what asylum in immigration terms means. Harris HQ better be paying attention, asking him about this onstage at a debate and tying it to the Hannibal Lecter shit is an instant right cross to the jaw

Keep calling your state reps and the Senate and Assembly leaders.

If this passes any hope of congestion pricing happening dies.

@transalt.org has links that will help you find your state reps:

call your state senator and assemblymember and demand that they protect congestion pricing. Hochul needs legislation to change the law that enacts the program. Albany will decide its fate. look up your reps and make your calls immediately
