The staff at this public elementary school in DC showed far more courage than an Ivy with $15 billion endowment
More details: ICE goons were turned away at HD Cooke. They tried to seize the school nurse in the parking lot without a warrant, but backed off after staff intervened.

Happy birthday to one of the greatest, Frederick Douglass. Born into slavery, he didn't know his actual birthday, but chose to celebrate it on this day.

Please read his books and essays; please teach your children his story when they are old enough to understand.

Just as ICE and CBP have no legitimate role in "election security" neither does the head of DHS. The mere existence of this press conference should be a scandal, much less this tone-deaf comment.

Known as ‘Hounds and Jackals’ or ‘Game of 58 holes’, its original name is unknown. It’s suggested it was played in a similar way to ‘Snakes and Ladders’.

THIS IS THE ENERGY I WANT
NEW — I spoke with Rep. Delia Ramirez (@ramirez.house.gov) about her calling DHS leaders "inheritors of the Klan hood and the slave patrol," the prospect of one day seeing them behind bars, and what it's like to see the public [finally] embrace her long-held dream to abolish ICE.

US Troops killed all the guards at Dachau for this kind of shit.
On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

Anyone telling you otherwise, who "just wants to enjoy [X] without politics", is only doing so because either they don't mind the horrors or they're FOR them.

Glad to see union leaders talking about a general strike. Mass strikes require planning, strike funds and mutual aid. (They will not happen through posting and spontaneous action.)

He says it’s time to go “on offense.”

“Should we use a general strike as a tool? Absolutely. We should be prepared to use that tool because our democracy is worth it.”

If your plan for saving humanity doesn’t include the people already on earth, you’re just a racist piece of shit.

Greg provides a roadmap for Democrats - who should learn from @gelliottmorris.com too
The extraordinary public backlash to Trump's ICE raids and mass deportations suggests it's time to rethink how information warfare and political persuasion work in the Trump era. Dems have an opening to reset the immigration debate if they act now.
