Further to that last post of mine - in case you were wondering what an Australasian swamphen looks like (formerly known as the purple swamphen - for obvious reasons), here's one I photographed at Mount Gambier in 2022. This one exuded attitude 😆
The are beautiful birds.

Let me tell you a tale of how completely the normies have been mobilized. My 14 year-old niece has done School of Rock for the past 5 years; last summer she was part of their touring band, and the kids loved playing together so much that they decided to keep doing it. (1/?)

One rule bans hospital-based care, the other eliminates Medicaid/CHIP coverage

Together they'd make care virtually unavailable nationwide, including in shield law states

Almost everyone "on the left" doesn't have a problem with machine learning, or technology, or progress. They do have problems with security, safety, mental health outcomes, plagiarism, labor distributions, and environmental & energy impact.

Industry regulation is not some unreasonable leftist ask.

Close down the camps. Reunite the families. Abolish ICE. Reparations for victims and immigrants.
On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

at some point maybe we should do something about the cabal of billionaires intentionally demolishing society so they can profit off the ashes
this is comically evil. brazenly anti-social. just absolute black-pilled nihilism. we will not have a republic, we will not be free, until we regulate these companies to the point where — at a bare minimum — they're too afraid to put stuff like this down on paper.

Yep, this is already exactly the pattern I'm seeing develop in my life. 🙃
i think the most likely scenario for AI in the workplace will be a separation between people who use AI and think it works when it doesn't, and then another group of people who don't use AI who end up picking up the slack for the AI users.

In the same way that using prison labor is morally worse than most things people are in prison for, this is morally worse than anything cops could possibly be worried about these groups doing.
I only ever had a criminal informant for local cops pretend to be my friend so he could move in with us and the protest kids for months, like the idea of a full undercover cop straight up fucking you for years whispering "wouldn't it be fun to blow up Dow Chemical" in your ear makes me want to puke

Today, we take the opportunity to look forward by introducing my Trans Bill of Rights, a comprehensive vision to provide protections for all trans and nonbinary people.

This is the aftermath of an ICE kidnapping a few blocks from my home in St. Paul—an hour ago. A quiet street full of broken glass and at least three wrecked cars. The target of the kidnapping was taken away by ambulance. He was on a stretcher and covered by a sheet, though a cop said he was alive.
