say it!!!
Am I ever allowed to criticize any Democrat or does being Trump’s opposition immunize every prominent member of the party from criticism? What would you consider a valid complaint about Democrats?
You’re all doing their bidding every single day by attacking the one party that’s ever tried to hold them accountable.

They have publicly said that’s why they turned on Obama and Biden.

You’re helping them right now.

y'all I truly can't believe how much @whstancil.bsky.social I am reposting rn 😅

no offense, but mostly just thought of him as a kinda pedantic,
sorta interesting wonk b4

but my brother-in-christ has a fire in his belly, a seriously fearless and clear-eyed moral vision, and a honda fit 🔥 let's gooo

zero zeal!!!
We have to get rid of Jeffries and Schumer. We have to. It’s unendurable that these men are the most prominent Democrats of the moment. They are two of the most broadly undistinguished men I could imagine in politics, zero fire, zero fight, zero zeal, machine politicians with sinecures.

heard this in the dentist today, as well
This is Minneapolis:

I’m at a major healthcare clinic (just here for a friend) and overheard the front desk staff mention they’ve had 97 missed appointments today.

People aren’t getting medical care bc they’re afraid to leave home.

Bruley: "If it is happening to our officers, it pains me to think how many of our community members are falling victim to this every day."

bizarre is one word for it
Bizarre to hear a police chief talking like the everyday victim of abuse by law enforcement officers, who's seeking justice while facing systemic roadblocks at every turn.
Chief Bruley on seeking accountability for ICE misconduct against his officers: When you call leadership they can't tell you what their people were doing that day. They give a website to file complaints. Complaint form requires you give agents' identity-but agents cover faces, don't wear name tags.

thinking a lot about this & the signal Walz sent to born and bred Minnesotans when he invoked it

I remember my Duluthian dad went out of his way to bring us to this spot at Gettysburg on a road trip & imparted a sense of duty to stand tall when you feel what you are fighting for is a moral cause
The spirit of the 1st Minnesota is still burning bright in all my neighbors. Same fight, 150 years on, and we will win again bsky.app/profile/alex...

I've had, like many, dozens of in-person encounters by now, and I haven't seen one singular federal agent behave ethically. Not one.
Hennepin County Sheriff Dawanna Witt holding tight to the bad apples theory: "that trust is being damaged, broken, by the questionable and sometimes unethical actions of some - some - federal agents... I want to be clear that I am not saying all federal agents."

We cannot normalize this federal occupation of Minneapolis.

It is not normal to watch people abducted in front of our eyes—dragged from car windows, pulled from their homes, and children left without parents.

This is not about immigration. It’s about unchecked cruelty.

I am not exaggerating when I say ICE functions as a terrorist organization in the Twin Cities. The goal seems to be to harass and frighten people (the ones who are lucky enough to not be abducted, at least) and it's deeply unsettling when you learn they're in your neighborhood.

I cannot express how it makes me feel to see my Minneapolis neighbors living every day in the line of fire, risking injury, imprisonment, and death at the hands of a tyrant, while these soft, empty suits prance around at Davos and hope that if they pretend hard enough he’ll go away.

stunning
Carney: "American hegemony in particular helped provide public goods, a stable financial system... this bargain no longer works. Let me be direct. We are in the midst of a rupture, not a transition... recently, great powers have begun using economic integration as a weapon. Tariffs as leverage ... "

👏
i’ve noticed that some of the strongest and most clear eyed opposition to ICE and the federal government and its threats in general in my neighborhood chats is coming from the queer and trans people who have sought refuge in minnesota and want to protect it. bless loring park

Another person taken today from the quarry, leaving a wife and a young baby without support.

If you are vulnerable or at risk, please stay away from the quarry. Target and Home Depot parking lots have been staging sites for ICE with lots of activity.

Stay safe and stay vigilant.

Minneapolis observers: our signal channels are not secret, unvetted, or unmonitored. Please assume the feds (and police) are on all of them. What you are doing is incredibly courageous but not risk-free and they likely know who most or all of us are. Strength in numbers, not anonymity.

this 😅
i’m in neighborhood chats with my political enemies. jeremiah ellison is sharing jacob frey on the news on twitter. all of mpls staff talking about using docs written by DSA. DSA members impressed with will stancil

tbh tho some of southwest aren’t meeting the moment but overall people are united
people who have been divided on every local issue are doing things to help take care of each other. the only divide that matters right now is helpers or not. i’ve never seen an amount of unity and support like this. it really is Us vs Them

and the thing I can't figure out is why they can't talk about more than one important thing at once
The US is collapsing into fascism and going to war with Europe and the opposition party is like “I’m here to talk about the important thing: how your average grocery bill has risen by two dollars over the last year, which I also have no plan or ability to fix”

We know how to resist them effectively” says the army of honor roll students who have manifestly failed to resist them effectively. Who have failed so completely the country has all but collapsed

Today's Minnesotan of the day is the anonymous commuter who followed ICE for over an hour, around Minneapolis, out of Minneapolis, to the furthest-flung parts of the metro. "I'm pretty mad at these guys and got nothing better to do today. I'll go until I run out of gas" she said halfway through
