I never watched the TV show but I bought #1 because it’s by @gregpak.net and dang! It’s perfect. A rocket blast of characters, dialogue, and art that makes me want to read more.

KOKUHO: Anchored by an astonishing central performance from Ryo Yoshizawa and a fastidious devotion to the traditional art of kabuki theatre, Lee Sang-il’s sumptuous saga emerges as the finest Japanese film of the year. www.scmp.com/lifestyle/en...
Review | Kokuho: kabuki epic with Ryo Yoshizawa is the best Japanese film of the year
Kokuho is a lavish, bewitching story of two Japanese kabuki theatre actors, raised in the same family and competing to become the best.

THE PASSENGERS (1977) is probably the least seen Dean Koontz adaptation and a nifty, mean little thriller deserving of rediscovery. Some stellar DUEL-like car action, a truly disturbed and threatening villain, and fun European/period touches make for a great watch.

Thanks @funcityeditions.bsky.social 4 this crazy return 2 my childhood with these 3 TV movies I sorta remember. Death Ride was a bit risqué but they were all super fun 2 watch. And the star power! Jennifer Jason-Leigh, Ann Jillian, Paul Winfield, Mare Winningham
LOVE this release!

The first film is okay, but BLACK PHONE 2 is a meaty good time and the best Cargill/Derrickson since SINISTER. Minor nitpicks -- namely those ugly cg mattes -- but the kid kills are gnarly, Hawke is aces, score is terrific, and it's easily one of the better ELM ST riffs. Ready for part 3!

The Yeung-Wah Kam/Johnnie To/Tsui Hark Hong Kong crime classic THE BIG HEAT is now available digitally from Shout.

No idea about a Blu-ray date (or release, considering what's going on at Shout), so if you want it, here it is.

Congratulations to the Toronto Blue Jays on a magnificent season. It is a shame either team had to lose. And this was a gut punch. 💔💔

Classy players, fanbase, and truly one of the finest cities in the world.

Future is bright with Yeasavage, Barger, and Vladdy.

Now go re-sign Bo.

I’m enjoying listening to Dodgers announcers Stephen Nelson & Rick Monday call the game on radio rather than Dodgers announcer Joe Davis call the game on TV. I’m still watching (with the sound off), but c’mon, no comparison.

And while I'm procrastinating--BRAMAYUGAM stars Mammootty, not Mohanlal!
Thrilled to see that the Empire 25 is showing DIÉS IRAÉ, the latest Malayalam language Indian horror movie from Rahul Sadasivan, writer/director of the fantastic Mohanlal vehicle/haunted house/caste system chiller BRAMAYUGAM. Need to see that on a big screen. youtu.be/S1FGXOamA5I?...

TWILLEY DON'T MIND isn't just an album, it's an ethos and we should all be so lucky to have been Dwight Twilley. Down 'n' dirty rock mixed with the power pop perfection of "Looking For The Magic" and "Trying To Find My Baby". How in the Hell did Twilley not become a rock superstar? #Rocktober
