These lists typically include films like MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE and KILLDOZER -- both great fun -- but I was strict and kept it solely to cars because I am a goddamn professional.

The result is a celebration of some lesser-known good times like CRASH!, PHANTOM RACER, and DEATH CAR ON THE FREEWAY.
Whether it's a sentient car on a murder spree or a car made deadly by a crazed driver, these are the best killer car movies ever made.

Very exasperating that Exasperating men do not like it when they are no longer the heroes.
Noah Baumbach is at his best when he’s depicting men who resent the world for not recognizing their genius. His new movie, ‘Jay Kelly,’ contains little of what made his work so beloved by those who saw themselves in his exasperating men.

I get what others have written about Wonder Man not really being a superhero series. It examines the human elements of the protagonist, a desperate out-of-work actor. Per usual, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is great and the series is an interesting watch. But it mostly spins its wheels.

Saw Dead Man’s Wire this afternoon and it is excellent. Also, let Mr. Netflix know that I drove to the next town over to see it.
Please see Gus van Sant's Dead Man's Wire, a hostage film & social tapestry that is "unabashedly inspired by the best crime dramas from the 1970s, including Dog Day Afternoon,The Sugarland Express, Network and Badlands, and can stand proudly alongside any of them." www.rogerebert.com/reviews/dead...
Dead Man's Wire review: Gus Van Sant tackles true-crime intrigue
A thoughtful, bleakly funny 1970s drama that speaks to the current moment, and is equal to the many classics that inspired it.

For the evening crowd... I kicked off a new column talking one of my favorite underseen vampire movies, 1986's HELLO DRACULA. It's a six-film franchise from Taiwan, and it's a lot of spooky fun!
"In HELLO DRACULA as in other jiangshi films, the 'dead' hop along behind the sorcerer, each of them with a paper talisman attached to their head to keep them under the holy man’s control." We're kicking off a new series in 2026 from the one and only @fakerobhunter.bsky.social. It's gonna get weird.
Grief, Horror, and Netherworld Breakdancing in 'Hello Dracula'
Rob Hunter explores the whacky and wonderful world of 'Hello Dracula,' a kids' movie with '80s style and a lot of heart.

Yes! Absolutely rocked at SXSW.
Absolutely lit on fire about this movie after seeing it at Telluride Horror Show. Can’t wait for a rewatch.
I think IT ENDS is going to be a movie people talk about for a long, long time. So why not listen to me and Donato talk about it right now?

A rave review not about an album praises the Langone emergency room at 30th Street, which beset by 80-something urinary difficulties I dared visit on a mobbed Saturday night, where many cordial, gifted, efficient MDs spent hours fixing me up. Home around 230, slept well all night. Thanks so much.
