One of my favorite films this year. Please see it! Part 70's paranoid thriller, part sexual tension-filled caper. Ahmed and Collins are so good in it.

If I ever get the chance to interview Paul Thomas Anderson, I'd love to know why phone calls in his films are SO STRESSFUL.

Can we begin the Benecio del Toro Oscar campaign now? Such a cool, controlled force in the chaos of DiCaprio's frayed live wire desperation.

My favorite film of #FantasticFest so far- "When We Were Live".

"Killing Spree" aka "Folies Meurtrieres"- one of the repertory films at #FantasticFest. The slasher film widdled down to its most base element of stalker and prey.

Fantastic Fest 2025 Dispatch #1: Refuge into the Horror

"Relay" is really, really good. Taut direction and a sure handed script with just the right whiff of paranoid '70's aroma.

Is there a more perfect, touching album in the last 5 years than Ethel Cain's "Willoughby Tucker, I'll Always Love You"? I think not.

After slogging through so many mid films so far this year, I've watched 2 masterpieces in the last week- "Eephus" and "She Rides Shotgun". C'mon film!

Love both of these films so much. Wish novelist Paul Auster was tapped for more adaptations.

Been looking for a copy of Samuel Fuller's "A Third Face" memoir for years. Picked one up last week. Man, this is a wonderful, hardboiled jaunt through old newspaper and old Hollywood in Fuller's clipped manner of speaking. Looking forward to re-watching all his films again as I read about each one.

"Hurry Up Tomorrow" - word of mouth has been horrendous on this, but I loved it. Not as successfully raw as Trey Edward Shults' "Waves" but I admire the ambition and how yet another one of his films swerves from one half to the next to comment on consequences and trauma.
