I reviewed the smutty Canadian gay hockey show (because of course I did!)

It's entertaining, but the decision to retain author Rachel Reid's hyper accelerated timeline does nothing to help the non-sexy bits.

Dunham does a fun job of adapting CATHERINE CALLED BIRDY, a film that probably would have done well theatrically, but went straight to Amazon
Today: @brennacgray.bsky.social and @joelipsett.bsky.social discuss Lena Dunham's 2022 adaptation of Catherine Called Birdy

Starring Bella Ramsey and Andrew Scott, there's some queer subversion embedded in the film

Plus: Billie Piper, modernizing a classic, and a new YA BINGO board for a new year

THE PLAGUE began expanding theatrically today and, as you’ll hear @tracedthurman.bsky.social, @conrad-esq.bsky.social and I discuss, it’s well worth seeking out!
Conrad and Joe are joined by @horrorqueers.bsky.social' @tracedthurman.bsky.social to discuss Charlie Polinger's debut feature, THE PLAGUE (2025).

Expect plenty of discussion about pre-teen bullying, queer-coding, and body horror.

Plus: praising Kayo Martin as central antagonist Jake!

It’s trite to say in this day and age, particularly about a Batman film, but I do think this one is the most gritty and realistic of them all.

Gotham feels like a real place, overrun with crime (and persistent rainy weather)
