Large SUVs are a danger to pedestrians, cyclists & other drivers.

It's time to take action to reduce their presence in urban areas.

This is spot-on about what's being done to the BBC. The staggering hypocrisy of the people leading the attack is, well, staggering.

Research by Crisis shows that nearly 300,000 families are currently experiencing the worst forms of homelessness in England.

I have signed a cross-party letter in today's Times, calling on the Government to act now to tackle this issue once and for all.

Cutting the insulation schemes that are one of the best ways to permanently reduce energy bills for low income families would be an eyewateringly daft & counterproductive way of seeking to reduce energy bills, as well as driving up emissions & leading to mass job cuts in the insulation sector 🙄

The resignations of Tim Davie and Deborah Turness must be an opportunity for the BBC to turn a new leaf, rebuild trust and resist those like Nigel Farage who want to destroy it

We must stand up for a strong, independent BBC, to stop Trump’s America becoming Farage's Britain.

This is really important.

The main thing that makes it hard to achieve integrated nature and green in cities isn’t density of buildings or density of people — it's density of cars. And the more well-designed and integrated density of people & buildings you achieve, the fewer cars you need or want.

The anti-smoking playbook is worth studying and learning from, and is completely applicable to oversized cars.

A note on SRETs (side road entry treatments). Basically these make roads safer by slowing car drivers down as they turn, using raised platforms and tightening radii (1/2)

Too many city plans are still using language like “balancing competing priorities” because at some point, we city planners decided that the word balance made us sound reasonable and less scary. But let’s be clear — in most cases balance has been a myth, and is often NOT the correct goal or approach.

Yep. Pet hate is drivers anxiously rushing to get past you only to immediately brake as they join a queue of traffic, usually slowing or blocking your path in the process.

During covid with minimal traffic I could cycle to work in 22 minutes. Today it took me 30 as I was continually stuck behind single occupancy cars.

It’s not cyclists who hold motorists up - it’s motorists.
