Time the law was changed so ASls ( bike boxes) which are intended to protect those choosing to cycle were made yellow box junctions: no entry unless exit is clear.

To anybody who supports sustainable transport: Please stop saying “car restrictions” just move cars elsewhere, it’s just not true
Comment & Analysis: In the past, it was mainly said by opponents of giving space to walking, cycling and buses, but more recently, a number of media commentators who are generally supportive of active travel and public transport have claimed that bus priority measures in Dublin City Centre have just moved cars to other streets. There's no data to back this up, and long-term data show a nearly annual decline in the number of cars entering Dublin City Centre at peak times.

The whole "both sides" nonsense is just an attempt to muddy the waters.

Once again it's both entirely understandable why the UK government is taking this approach given the need for Trump's backing on Ukraine etc, while at the same time it makes any minister obliged to trot out the lines look fairly ludicrous. Happy 2026.

Here we go again. Trump has told the UK that if we want a UK-US tech deal, we need to buy chlorinated chicken from the US! 🤢🐔 How dare he try to impose poor food standards in Britain. Sign the petition to keep chlorine-washed chicken off our shelves: act.38degrees.org.uk/act/chlorine...

And still no plans or incentives from our federal and provincial governments to help people choose bikes instead of cars. Quite the opposite, actually.

Well 2025 was a brilliant year for #cycling. I completed 10051 miles by last night. A record + not bad at 72! Obv the safest miles were in #NL but still some gt quiet bits in the UK esp Derbyshire. But to enable more women like me to choose to #cycle it needs proper funding. A few sunsets seen.

I love seeing photos like this that show kids riding in protected bike lanes because it makes the important point that the best infrastructure enables *anyone* to ride (or roll, because bikes lanes are also great for wheelchairs and other forms of micro-mobility) regardless of skill or ability.
