Sorry to hear this. I interviewed John Quinn for the Irish Examiner re his book Letters to Olive (his late wife) some years ago -
"He was also an accomplished author of both fiction and non-fiction, with his children’s novel The Summer of Lily and Esme winning the 1992 Bisto Children’s Book of the Year award."

'Tangier Bay at Night.' During his time in Tangier, John Lavery painted many nocturnes which for the most part are subtle transitions of grey and blue, adopting the vocabulary of Whistler, an artist he greatly respected. This is from 1913.
