I see Starmer is at the lose-the-suit-jacket-Kier-and-roll-up-your-shirt-sleeves stage of political desperation.

Really enjoying this absorbing biography of Phil Lynott by @graemethomson.bsky.social. Revisiting early Lizzy in tandem.

Theatre 118 is one of the best grassroots theatre initiatives in the country. Situated in an office block in the centre of Glasgow, over 6 months it put on a ton of work and provided a vital platform for writers, directors and actors. The company has just lost its space at 7 days notice.

"The standout in the cast is ... Martin Clunes."
pretty, simplified, dull – emerald fennell's much-feted version of wuthering heights is a bitter disappointment that reads more as brand exercise than sensual cinema lwlies.com/reviews/wuth...
Wuthering Heights review – pretty vacant
Emerald Fennell sets out to shock with her maximalist take on Emily BrontΓ«'s classic novel, but her grand vision lacks depth or heart.

Sadly, it was the 1970 film version starring Timothy Dalton as H that inspired the KB song.
I've always known that Kate Bush wrote Wuthering Heights after catching 10 mins of a dramatisation on the telly, but I'd never looked it up, but I'm glad I did. Heathcliff was played by Ian McShane. Yep, true story, Kate Bush wrote her best song about Lovejoy.
