I just voted YES to extend healthcare subsidies that keep folks insured. My own insurance went up $2,400 this year. Others have been hit even harder.

It just passed in the House.

Keep making your voices heard—it is working! 17 Republicans voted YES. Now, the Senate must do the same.

AND LISTEN TO LOCAL AND ESTABLISHED ORGANIZERS.

Los Angeles is not Chicago. New York City is not Philadelphia. Local leaders who've been out there doing the work...will know best. Listen. to. them.

Stay frosty.
They don't have capacity to terrorize more than 2-3 cities at a time.

Which means they rotate teams to new cities without relief.

Which means consistent resistance by fresh activists in each new city will break them over time.

Which means if you're city's not occupied, rest up and get ready.

ICE killed a Black man, Keith Porter, 7 days before Renee Good, and I hadn't heard about it until today. His vigils went unnoticed. His life came and gone and America forgot to blink.

Two Americas.

Gonna disagree with Matt here.

July was the most optimal time to stop this but every fucking day affords us a new opportunity to stop ICE and the fascists who enable its operation.
The agency we all just watched murder a US citizen with impunity is on the verge of being rewarded by having their budget quadrupled within the next three years.

July was the best time to stop this. Today is the next best time.

The way that people have memory-holed that Abolish the Police was the actual radical demand in 2020 and Defund the Police was incrementalist reformism to help get there is extremely depressing

Moreover, ICE must be destroyed

Just found out that my neighbor died. She was in her late 60s and had COVID multiple times. Each bout weakened her system a little more. When she got it again in December, it killed her.

COVID is still here. Please protect yourselves.

Someone was suggesting I take up sports-enthusiasm as a way to have something low-stakes to care about.

I think if I did I might have to become a Kraken fan?

Get out a piece of paper

We do things on paper from now on. Phones are tracked. Platforms are tracked, filled with bots and propaganda.

If you don’t have a pen and paper go buy some.

Write down things YOU can do. Things in YOUR power.

Make most of them small. Some of them big.

It is OK to put down your phone

You have seen the horror

You will not be able to do anything about it until you put your phone down

Put your phone down. Close your eyes. Say a prayer to whatever divine power you believe in, even if it’s just yourself

Don’t stop until you feel stillness

Then:

Even the best senators routinely make these weak calls to action. The principals in the Trump Administration are war criminals. They belong in The Hague. And House members should be filing impeachment articles.
I just left the Venezuela briefing.

It's worse than you thought.

Oil company executives seem to know more about Trump's secret plan to "run" Venezuela than the American people.

We need public Senate hearings NOW.

This is a time for 1000s of mass meetings across the country to specifically address ICE & Border Patrol actions.

1. We need standardized agendas.
2. We need standardized teach ins - with local specificities.
3. We need mass meetings to happen in the same month.
4. Local officials must attend.

I already have trouble focusing, and you want to break that focus right as it sets in?!?

ICE has shot and killed a community observer in Minneapolis.

Sending all of my love to the people of Minneapolis and the folks defending their neighbors there. This is heinous, and I am so sorry.

To everyone else: REMEMBER ICE LIES ABOUT EVERYTHING. THIS IS DOCUMENTED.
ICE reportedly shot someone at Portland and 33/34. Mspt saying bullets, could be less lethal 20+ agents on site, MPD and ambulances responding. Helicopters overhead

A century or two from now, mealy-mouthed historians will claim that Trump shouldn't be judged by their more advanced moral standards.

That's why it's so important to set the record straight now: as his contemporaries, we recognise his actions are immoral. We condemn him now.
