Some days are just filled with sadness and hopelessness. The old, healthy me seems like another person; like someone made up; like a dream I had. It's like I've been sick for an eternity or only a week -- like time has been redefined. Still waiting for my life to resume. I make no other plans.

Here's just one of the reasons we keep demonstrating for clean air, evidence-based infection control and public education on COVID-19 👇
The science grows clearer by the day — we just need to act on it.

Well, it doesn't have to be like this. This is a choice we're making by not cleaning the indoor air or informing the public about the need for infection control.

Moreover, these numbers also mean a new, year-round baseline of chronic illness.

This is not sustainable!

Yale researchers analyzed data from 158 million US workers and found that even after the pandemic, COVID-19 continues to raise work absences by 13% and labor force exits by 13%.

The virus has created a new year-round baseline similar to flu season.

This cohort study examines the extent to which COVID-19 continues to generate work absences and decrease labor force participation beyond the pandemic period in the US.

ME/CFS is a devastating condition that has long been denied, dismissed, psychologised and underdiagnosed. Research is at last starting to catch up with it, with glimmers of hope for those who have been left untreated for so long.

“Study challenges notion that Covid is ‘mild’ for children.”

You mean, just like EVERY OTHER STUDY on Covid in children?

This shouldn’t be framed as a surprise, or even news, but as established fact. The real question is why we’re still not trying to stop it.

A presentation that lays out some of the harms associated with the BPS model and the psychologisation of ME, Long COVID, etc., and why criticism of it cannot be reduced to "patients just don't want to be associated with psychological illness".
1) This lecture by Prof dr Vivienne Matthies-Boon is a good introduction to the problems with the biopsychosocial (BPS) model and the harms it has caused in the ME/CFS community.
