The fire in Hong Kong is horrible and devastating. One thing I observe, in comparison to the Grenfell fire here, is that within three days, authorities have arrested 11 people, directors and top brass. I don't believe anyone, much less top brass, from Grenfell have faced charges, eight years later.

Honestly having two individuals called Nuzzi and Lizza involved in some kind of sexpol scandal just makes it sound like RFK has been having a torrid affair with a ferret. At least one ferret? Idk, paywalls suck.

I remember pro-ana MySpace being one of the ugliest spots on the internet when I was a teenager so when I saw the same on tumblr it was a convincing argument to not engage with that platform
Something tiktok has taught me is that Ariana Grande (and Bella Hadid) were fixtures of pro-ana tumblr back in the day.

what i love is that in 1990 judas priest got brought to trial over the claim that subliminal messages in the recording "better by you better than me" caused two suicides and now in 2025 openai seems to be generating a suicide a week with its superliminal messages and the US government is funding it

I don’t really believe in luck or ghosts or god or the other fanciful ideas that are meant to invisibly influence our lives, however I do believe I am a jinx, and that my mere presence makes everything worse no matter how good my actions. It’s pretty disheartening

There have been such fascinating shifts in how people wove music into their relationships over time.
Have a distinct memory of sitting next to a friend on a decaying half-pipe in the rain painstakingly Bluetoothing a new Erol Alkan banger from my phone to theirs.
My favorite piece of content today.

I have a category of studies mentally filed under "From the University Of No Shit Sherlock".
Started when I was a teen and watched a news report about a study that found that men who throw better and more flamboyant moves on the dance floor have a higher rate of hooking up successfully.
Is it just me or do other Long Covid suffers read headlines like this one and think:

“No shit Sherlock! Welcome to the party. We’ve been telling you this for yearsssss.”

Followed immediately by gratitude for scientists investigating Long Covid to someday lead to treatments.

Just found out my favourite DJ is hosting a three-day event near enough to me that I wouldn't need a hotel or crashing sofa but the only way to attend the gig is to get a room at the venue 😭😭😭

When we labelled Wes Streeting a "CHILD KILLER" we weren't exaggerating.

Parents agree: since Streeting's blockers ban, NHS Sussex has been abusing and killing children.

Thank you to @sophiemolly.co.uk for this harrowing report.

I find it interesting that on the one hand games companies are putting out complaints like this while on the other hand companies like Rockstar believe they have a money-printing machine in their tentpole franchises that people will buy literally no matter what

These hoodies are sewn using a double needle coverstitch for durability, but the underarm and side seams are sewn using a flatlock seam. This produces a smoother, flatter seam, removing the bump that can rub against the body.

Paul at IG toofbush explains the flatlock seam below.
