Iowa City Made Its Buses Free. Traffic Cleared, and So Did the Air.
Ridership jumped, people cut back on driving and, over the summer, the city extended the program another year.

Stargate says ‘we want to sell you guns to kill god.’

Books with Pictures is more than just an amazing comic book shop, it's one of those magical third spaces that makes Portland so special. If you have any funds to help them through a lean time, please consider donating.

No one throws shade like a 5yo.

Her: What are you doing?
Me: Going to work.

Ten minutes later, still scrolling.

Her: Are you working from your phone?

As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

I've noticed the opposing team's fans only cheer when the opponents score on us. To win those fans over, I recommend we score on ourselves repeatedly; that will surely make them so happy they'll start supporting us. And I'm sure all our fans will keep cheering for us—who else is there to cheer for?

We are literally mad about your failure to fight the real dangers.
But there are real dangers out there that must be fought; and energy spent fighting each other is energy lost to that bigger fight.

look I know being an engaged citizen IS the work of democracy but it is also the work of elected officials not to create situations where everyone has to be mobilized all the time to prevent them from allowing some kind of Dickensian horror on a Sunday night while you're in between loads of laundry

Of all the people I went to high school with, I am 0% surprised to see which one pops up in a OJST comic. (Complimentary)
It was real cool to get back to my autobio roots in this travelogue comic about meeting the Magic Wand team and sitting in on the presentation of their legit scientific study on masturbation. Also, I ate so much. Like. So, so much. I regret nothing.

Yesterday I saw someone arguing in bad faith with someone I follow so I blocked them. Because blocking is the energy I bring to Bluesky. Today the same fight (still going) came back on my timeline. Guy was not blocked. So I have no idea who I blocked yesterday.

I think any story about Trump's autocracy should be mostly about the people and institutions who failed to stop it. This guy isn't a political genius, everything else just happens to be rotten. 'Toddler Consolidates Power In Household' is a story about incompetent parents, not shrewd maneuvering

fozzie is confident but untalented
gonzo is deranged but dignified
