Puzzling that the centrist pundits who are arguing for a "big tent" Democratic Party are the same people who spend all their time on social media attacking the left. The Venn diagram of these two groups is practically a circle.
Meanwhile, if you take Dems and subtract the left, you get 2000 and 2024

🚨Dept. of Education proposes to exclude public health degrees from the “professional degree” category.

That means new public health experts could lose access to key higher ed resources, like loan limits & reimbursement.

A bold strategy to let infectious diseases win! 🦠

When Covid caused NYC offices to hollow out what they found was that yeah the core business districts suffered but the neighborhoods where people actually live, thrived.

All WFH means is rethinking business districts, not cities.
if you cant go in to the office 3 days a week then you really can't complain when cities are hollowed out. cities are places where ppl work and network. getting rid of that makes cities useless
And it's usually something like "but that's not what the literal DNC does!" as if I don't know, as someone who has worked on Dem campaigns, sometimes in conjunction with the DNC what they do. So I'm going to be very specific here: this is the DNC being shitty: www.nytimes.com/2025/11/12/u...

It’s wild how many of the ICE/CBP detentions are turning out to be illegal — and yet in the US system, there are no consequences for the agents and no recourse for the victims.

I didn’t have a name for it, but having a certain degree of visibility, it was clear to me years ago that people were responding to a thing that they had just straight up imagined that I had said. After a while you can’t even really be that angry about it, just sad.
ever since I learned about three-cueing I've developed infinitely more patience for replies on social media. mfers literally do not know how to read. people are walking around conjuring random meanings into words they don't know, and they don't know a lot of words. it's crazy

Republicans constantly attack their Congressional leadership, and they remove leaders who fail to achieve the objectives desired by the base.

This 'infighting' hasn't been a 'distraction' or 'weakness' for them, it has produced victory after victory, including control of all three branches.
Oh yeah - never a convenient time to have some real talk about the dynamic that the Democrats in the Senate are led by bunch of chumps. Certainly not after they created the conditions for yet another base demoralizing surrender.
This kind of activity is just what you should want to see, if your are a Republican, eager to see the opposition distracted by self-destructive infighting.

On this day I always recommend reading The Guns of August, a superb book about how the events of August 1914 led to a global conflict that killed and wounded tens of millions. President John F. Kennedy was so impressed by it that he ordered the Pentagon to send a copy to every general.

The reason why I'm so angry has a lot to do with the lives that will be lost — people are absolutely going to die as a direct result of Senate Democrats folding on health care. It also has a lot to do with the suffering that was endured — people were struggling to get by without food assistance. 🧵

Watching the DNC is like watching a horror movie where the villian is right behind the cast members, and they ignore it, and also they can hear you screaming warnings from the audience at them, and they find it irritating.

Deeply disappointed in my Senator. If you're not up for the fight and not willing to support leadership who will rise to the moment, we will replace you. Schumer has had so many chances to keep order and lead but keeps failing us.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

I know quite a few comrades on the ACA exchange. I used to be on the exchange for years. A doubling or tripling of premium costs will be a death sentence for people who NEED HEALTH INSURANCE to survive. PERIOD.

We've heard Democrats say as much for WEEKS. So what the hell??????

Okay, Ezra is confirming that he's hearing D senators are actually plotting to cave to Trump and end the shutdown WITHOUT any extension of the ACA, just a promise of a vote later down the line.

Call your senators, friends, NOW, and tell them NO DEAL without ACA funding!

I don't know what the Senate is going to do. But if they do in fact fold in exchange for nothing, they will be living up to past performance. To expect the Senate to carry out the will of the American people is to misunderstand why it was created in the first place.
