A Rare Canadian Consensus: Views of the U.S. Sour
Negative views of the United States dominate across regions, demographics, and political lines — placing the U.S. closer to non-democratic states than to democratic allies.

TikTok now enforcing pro-MAGA content. So that's another dead platform then, killed by the paper-thin-skin tech bros.
So this weekend TikTok removed our video about Elon Musk showing up in the Epstein files for "promoting misinformation", which we're sure has nothing at all to do with billionaire Trump megadonor Larry Ellison taking over control of TikTok's algorithm.

Ukraine has perfected the UCS (Uninterruptible Coffee Supply).
Blackout or not , Ukrainians are getting their coffees - this coffee machine in our building continues to work even when light is off (thanks to that big battery to the right ). Because you just don’t get between us and coffees. You just don’t

ICE using the same ruse that Ted Bundy used to kidnap people should tell you something.
CCTV footage appears to show DHS agents posing as people having car trouble in order to lure a target out of his house before arresting them. The target comes out and starts helping them before 3 vehicles surround the scene. The car "experiencing" trouble then drives off with them.

It has indeed been well established that Christopher Columbus was a delightful fellow who should be emulated aggressively and uncritically 🤥
The Rubio speech really is appalling, and if you haven’t read it yet, you should.

If America survives this it'll be because of people like this "never-been-to-a-protest" guy, who saw his own government terrorizing kids, and said "nope, not here".
Yesterday morning kids were sent running from their bus stop in panic because ICE showed up. This guy at today’s ICE Out of Lindenwold protest is a must watch 😭. @maddow.bsky.social

Our problem in Ukraine is still that there are red lines when it comes to the weapons they can use to win this war.

And you cannot win a war with one hand tied on your back. We need to give them weapons so they can strike into Russia.

Spot on.
The ‘world order’ didn’t collapse bc Russia invaded Ukraine. It collapsed because the free world chose not to stop them.
By refusing to use our wealth & power to defend even a European democracy, we showed dictators everywhere that aggression pays.
That was the death blow. We did this to ourselves.

MAGA is cruelty. They revel in it. It fuels them. They made such a fuss about Hillary calling them "deplorables", but that really didn't cover it, did it?
On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.
