The mere act of posting qualified remarks about his personality, opinions, etc from their couches while he rips around Minneapolis in a Honda Fit confronting armed federal agents known to murder U.S. citizens in broad daylight makes him a more serious person than they could ever hope to be.
No matter whether they’re coming from the left or the center, every single person on this site that’s like “I hate Will Stancil but…” sounds like they’re a swing district House Democrats issuing a statement about the operation to kidnap Maduro.

He was born for this.
You guys have no idea how good this car is for what we’re doing. You can lurk in alleys or behind parked SUVs. It drives like a go-cart. You’re three feet off the ground with exceptional visibility so I can pull snap u-turns or cut behind convoys

You are not, in fact, as left as they get.
I'm as left as they get but this is something I dont agree with at all. I really dont care if you chop your dick off, you do you. But dont chop your dick off then try to play women's sports, men are generally bigger and stronger and there's a reason why they are separated by sex for most sports.

He’s pitting his base against urban centers.
New York news: Trump is vaguely threatening to end congestion pricing, again. Unclear why he is bringing this up now.

We don’t make enough of the fact that too many American journalists have a profound lack of imagination.
Immense skill issue to not have found this immediately obvious in 2016

I honestly think that the main revelation of Trump 2 has been that there is no big C Capital running things behind the scenes anymore and pulling strings. There's individual rich crazy people with their thumbs on the scale, but there's no smoke filled rooms
this is a five alarm Fucking With The Money fire and between this and the Greenland threats the rich assholes might want to wake up and realize this dude is going to cost them way more than any wealth tax will

Wall to wall cowards.
...I feared months ago when I suggested the Chair step down to protect the institution’s independence.
What is required now is that the person nominated to replace the Chair be committed to implementing the reforms necessary to restore the effectiveness of the world’s most powerful central bank....

@schumer.senate.gov give your balls a tug.
You lying piece of shit. I chaired the Minnesota DFL for all three of your runs here. I watched you lose. Three times. Minnesota never bought your con. And now, as Chair of the DNC, I’m looking forward to ending Trumpism for good in 2028 — not with lies, but with votes. Again.
Trump: "I feel I won Minnesota. I think I won it all three times. Nobody has won it since Richard Nixon won it many many years ago. I won it all three times in my opinion. It's a corrupt state ... I did so well in that state. The people were crying every time after."

State prosecutions are good and need to happen, but worth flagging there are lots of other things states can do. One of them would be cutting off all state assistance of any kind to federal law enforcement. Not just the limited sanctuary laws. Full cold stop, nothing. Also no data sharing, e.g. DMV.

Let them organize back into the militias they came from, wait for them to break the law (they will) and then hunt them down.

The common retort is “they aren’t watching/didn’t know/were actively misled” which are all things that can be true but which are not adequate excuses in a modern democracy with almost universal access to the internet.
People vote for enough Republicans that the Democrats don’t have an impeachment majority in the Senate

In critical elections for SCOTUS (namely 2016) they elected a television charlatan

The voters cannot receive enough blame

A lot of Republicans believe white Democrats (as individuals) actually secretly agree with them but are too afraid to say so.
Only 5 percent of republicans saying they’re unwilling to be friends with Democrats is obviously bullshit. The average Republican doesn’t even want to live in the same county as any Democrats.

There’s nothing I want to say about this that doesn’t immediately put me on a half dozen lists.
Greenland envoy Gov. Jeff Landry: "Solidifying the Western Hemisphere is good for the United States and good for the states that are in the United States, like Louisiana. And Greenland is in the Western Hemisphere."

I think this is probably true, but it doesn’t stop Dem voters from looking to minority leaders in both chambers as the de facto heads of the party for lack of better options. That should be enough to fundamentally change how Democrats select for these positions, especially when they’re out of power.
An important thing that people don’t realize about American political parties is that they’re basically headless from the moment they lose a presidential election until they have a confirmed nominee for the next cycle
My question, in response, would be ‘Is Schumer’s primary function to lead the 45 Democratic Senators or is it to lead Democrats in general?’ I think it’s the former and that it’s unfortunate, but ultimately irrelevant, that he isn’t a more engaging leader of Democratic voters. /1

He has drawbacks as a national politician, but Walz acknowledging his liabilities and stepping back to ensure the best possible outcome for the race is exactly the sort of thing the party should encourage and subsequently reward.
it also sucks to lose Walz under these circumstances even if I'm not as big a fan of him as many of you are
