My son told me that most of the immigrant students in his school are doing the virtual option, and the laptop has to be facing the teacher for the kids’ privacy. It’s basically just white and Black students in class and everyone else is invisible to everyone but the teacher. Fucking bleak.
Did I mention that large portions of MN’s population are in hiding right now? Kids are missing school. Adults can’t go out to work. People aren’t able to buy food or pay rent, and mutual aid is all keeping everyone going. We keep us safe, on our own, and people are being shot in the street for it

I keep seeing posts going "when ICE comes to MY city, we'll be out in the streets even harder" and man, I get that sentiment but I need everyone to understand that the work in Minneapolis is partly confrontational but MORE IMPORTANTLY aaallll the stuff organized in the background to help neighbors
