Once again I ask activists and allies to watch this documentary. It's on Netflix in the US, find it where you can. It is so well done and shows you what we're fighting for.

I would suggest offering this video showing violent arrests and detainments of citizens in the US to people who insist citizens aren't being arrested, but they would say it's PBS so they are lying.

When people around you don’t know why the government is partially shut down, read them this story. Tell them the government is partially shut down because Republicans insist on THIS continuing and are willing to sacrifice FEMA and the TSA over it.

ICE stopped a U.S. citizen, smashed her car window, dragged her into the street, and tossed her passport after reading it. Agents hid behind masks, refused to identify themselves, then walked away once they decided she “didn’t count” as deportable prey.

The changes gut public comments; bills in Congress gut NEPA and judicial review. Clearly, the purpose is to facilitate logging, drilling, mining, other development of our public lands. It's always corporations over Americans. You can speak up below. 🌎

It will immiserate so many
I see no reason not to look at the online gambling and prediction market craze as a new opioids crisis.

It will wreak havoc on lower-income Americans and leave a trail of destruction and despair in its wake.

Slate’s first example of this supposed sea-change among Democrats is Rick F*ing Wilson?!

RW is against Trump. Great. But we should never give him an inch of a platform to speak from, because his soul is still poisoned with the stuff that grew Trump in the first place. Like fat-shaming and ableism.
No. This guy isn’t even a Democrat and fat-shaming is not what people mean when they talk about ‘dark woke’ or ‘woke 2’.

I think we need to revisit what organizations are funded by DHS though. We actively need the Coast Guard for reasons very separate from what the current DHS represents.
In America our schools and health care don’t have the funding they need, so seeing dhs, an agency created out of xenophobia after 9/11 and now actively working against our national security, lose access to its funding for all the right reasons is (chefs kiss).
