Yeah, preaching to the choir.

The irony that our getting more and more anarchist/socialist as we get older is directly caused by the very people who look down on us for it never ceases to frustrate me, though.

Most folks I know under 50 are struggling just to survive, even those with 'good' jobs.

Long gone are the days when you could buy a house and live comfortably on a single, working-class income. But a lot of older folks are still convinced we're just not trying hard enough πŸ™ƒ

In my city, you need a minimum annual income of AU$120k per adult to not be in rental distress (I think the median income was about 60? Minimum wage 35ish, and welfare 15-20).

Rent and groceries have both doubled in the past 6 years, and our median house price just ticked past $1million.

We still have an absolute fraction of the generational wealth at our age vs folks the same age 50 years ago, so it's hard to compare.

You *used* to acquire more money, power, and privilege as you got older.

However the boomers have just acquired more and more and left the generations after them with nothing πŸ™ƒ

To be clear: these terrorists were not Arabs, not acting on behalf of Palestinians, radicalised by Islamic State, who oppose the cause of Palestinian self-determination.

Their antisemitic ideology and its murderous conclusion is not - cannot be - connected to pro-Palestinian activism.
This is why we desperately need new Jewish institutions, and orgs like @jewishcouncilau.bsky.social are so important.

The Bondi atrocity was committed by Indian men inspired by ISIS, a group who are emphatically not allies of Palestine.

The parties here want to obscure this to their own ends.

What I always hear: β€œWe can’t afford to pay our workers more than $15 an hour.”

What I never hear: β€œWe can’t afford to pay our CEO millions of dollars a year.”

Funny how that works.

This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

I also used to work at most music festivals and pop culture conventions, including photography, rider, artist liaison, etc, and a few crew/artist after-parties, but I didn't know who most of them were, so πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Oh, and I've worked in cafes/bars/pubs and served quite a few local (Perth) AFL legends.

Then look at the surface of Mars.

Then look up to the top right.

Spot Mars' moon Phobos high in the sky.

Then notice the bright spot beside Phobos.

That's Earth.

In Greek mythology, the goddess Hecate is said to have invented aconite, which Athena used to transform Arachne into a spider. Medea is also said to have attempted to poison Theseus with a cup of wine poisoned with wolf's bane. A worthy addition to our Garden.
