oh and one 'patriot' managed to get into the counterprotestors' crowd, snaking her way towards the hotel doors. luckily she was caught and surrounded (peacefully) before she could get there; escorted off
when i say protect i mean protect. last summer police were too busy nitpicking counter-protestors to bother with protecting the Mercure from the racists. they threw missiles, tried to get to the entrance, had to be physically blocked by counter-protestors

yesterday Bristol turned to protect asylum-seekers at the Mercure from 'Patriots'. little kids were peering out of windows: these fash scum were giving them the finger +filming them

the kids were legends: they covered their faces and gave them the finger right back

Read Palestine Week is coming up on 29 November-December 5.

A great way to support Palestinian writers is to read their work. Also, it's good to read it because of its quality.

Why not take part and perhaps discover a talented writer you haven't read before.

Horrific, stupid news from @uniofnottingham.bsky.social — they are closing their music department. Apparently they all found out suddently in a meeting yesterday.

It is one of the best music departments in the country — solidarity with my colleagues and their students

after a night of my boys growling & hiding in boxes & fluffing up their tails: ban all fireworks except sparklers. all you need for a great Bonfire Night is sparklers + bonfire + potatoes roasted in the embers unimaginably slowly till the skins are black and the inside is white as cream
frankly why tf are we doing fireworks at all. It’s called Bonfire Night. get your ex’s photographs and your childhood Harry Potter books and light that shit up
I like fireworks but they shouldn't be sold to the general public. Obviously some twat's going to lob one at a paramedic. Garden fireworks are always shit anyway. Go and give the rotary club a fiver and watch a good display in a field with a candyfloss machine and a tombola.

A white journalist at a white BBC has made what looks like a hit piece about a white writer charged with racism by a number of writers of colour. The twist? The BBC attacks the writers of colour.

Solidarity with all Black and Brown people fighting to be treated with dignity. Screw the racist BBC.

Worth pointing out the biggest supporters of trans people (which is who bigots mean by “gender ideology”) are bisexual & lesbian women. All the public “concerns” about trans people (phase, indoctrination, regret, etc) are recycled forms of homophobia. This is why LGB solidarity with the T is strong.
