Likewise, please consider signing the petition to support our colleagues in Languages! I actually began on a Music and German joint honours myself. I never considered not studying languages as an aspiring classical singer at the time. And this is part of a wider trend of cuts.

This week, UoN announced course suspensions for all modern languages, music, theology & religious studies, biosciences, mental health nursing and more.

@uonucu.bsky.social fighting management tooth & nail to prevent this reckless, shortsighted stupidity.

Although I am inevitably caught up in the likely dire implications for my department (Music), it isn’t just us in the Faculty of Arts or in the university under threat.

Do consider signing this petition in support of colleagues teaching Theology!

Music is important says the UK PM. Apparently it's not important to the University of Nottingham.

@uonucu.bsky.social will stand with all the subject areas affected by proposed cuts.
Devastated to share the news that was broken to colleagues in Music (and other departments) at the University of Nottingham yesterday. This is obviously a very difficult time for us and our students.

Please contact us on protectuonmusic@gmail.com if you would like to be involved.

Hey Bluesky! Just wanted to share that I’ve finally started my substack. I’ve been thinking about it forever. I’ve launched with a reflection on train journeys, London, and being myself.

Hope to see you over there!

If you are looking for the most soft, straight to DVD rom com but in a book but there happen to be dragons, I can recommend this. I imagine it’s marked as cosy contemporary romantasy but it’s much more like pet cafe owner vibes with pet owner and the pet - a dragon. Light summer blanket of a book.

My doom distraction is learning about plants. I’ve been committed to my garden (properly) since February and it’s so striking how many more butterflies, moths and birds we already have in the garden for me turning the soil, weeding, and adding some insect friendly seedlings and veg!
