Yes, it's true. Someone did take your job. And your healthcare, pension, wage hikes and life off a single income.
It just wasn't immigrants, welfare recipients, queer people or women having abortions.
If you want to know who took your money, it's the people with all the money.

Excellent YouTube channel FarmToTaber.
Ex-farm worker here.

We need to talk about this whole "But a living wage for farm workers would spike the cost of food!" thing.

Not true AT ALL.

Y'all don't understand how fast experienced farm workers are.

The average tomato picker pulls 650lbs per hour.

At $20/hr, that's $0.03/lb for labor.

Buried in a Senate budget bill is a massive giveaway to corporate developers and fossil fuel companies.

It forces the sale of at least 2 million acres of Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management land in 11 Western states *every 60 days* until millions of acres are gone.

Exactly
humbly disagree - he did not "spearhead effects to reduce & overhaul federal bureaucracy". he came to create chaos, steal private data, dismantle agencies that regulate his businesses & force Starlink & Space X as the only govt contractor. And crypto. he wants to launder treasury funds w/crypto.
Elon Musk is leaving the Trump administration after criticizing president’s ‘big beautiful bill’
The billionaire entrepreneur spearheaded efforts to reduce and overhaul the federal bureaucracy.

The story of this first week is corruption. Billionaires seated on the inaugural stage in front of the cabinet, crypto pump and dump, and the illegal firing of IGs. The media is acting like this is too chaotic and bewildering to interpret, but they are just afraid of sounding shrill. It’s corrupt.

The weirdest thing to get used to coming over to Bluesky was that all the posts were posts. I was so used to having to ignore every 3rd or 4th item because it was an ad. Seeing that every post was worth reading took me a few days.
I’ve been on Twitter for so long that the Bluesky feed seems…alien.

Where is all the conservative propaganda? Why am I not seeing all of Elon Musk’s dumb quote tweets? Where is Bella Hadid??

I'm so old I had totally forgotten about Spyro Gyra.
TEACH THE PEOPLE ABOUT SPYRO GYRA, IAN
Alot of contemporary indie game music that's inspired by blue skies era SEGA fare was in & of itself a riff on Spyro Gyra & you can't convince me otherwise youtu.be/bVDZ5UY_oDw?...

Going to reiterate that everyone on this website should run for something. Tree warden, Senator, horse catcher, whatever. The Democratic Party is currently screaming at each other about precisely how much more racist and transphobic they should get. Sneak past them, primary an old guy, take control.

A good resource is ClimateTown on YouTube. Rollie is funny as hell, well researched, and always ends with what you, yes you, can do about it.
Mainly get involved in the decision making. It can't just be older retired NIMBYs going to the planning meetings. Advocate FOR housing and transit YIMBYs!
now that I’ve had a few days to process the election, I think my reaction is: let blue states cook

no more of this “our infrastructure project needs 80 studies” and refusal to build housing.

it’s time to turn the blue states/cities into a utopia and advertising point for dems

Knitters - if you've wanted the Chiaogoo interchangeable needle set now is the time to get them if you can swing it. Buying the set was the best money I've ever spent on knitting.

Like HiyaHiya? Addi? Lykke? If you can invest in better tools now, do it. Tariffs will affect all of them.
🧶
I had the most enormous collection of needles. Since I got my Chiagoos, they’re all I’ve used. I have the interchangeables and I have them in all the sizes. The shorter needle sizes don’t work with my hands, though. But so glad they exist for those they suit.

The way Putinist/Orbanist government works is to use xenophobia to elect a strongman who directs the spoils of government to business cronies, who use their wealth to dominate media and ensure reelection. This may be the system that is going to start taking shape in America now.

I keep coming back to the fact that we don't know if we will even *have* elections in 4 years. The norms and laws have been failing for 8 years. He/they could turn him into Putin, with oligarchs all around. It's already started.
“we already survived 4 years of him” yeah actually a lot of people didn’t

Hey, remember when Elon wanted to back out of the Twitter purchase? And the stockholders made him follow through? And he had to work to come with the money?
And everyone laughed at all that.
sigh
I will say though that all our media elites saw Elon turn Twitter into a Nazi bar and just stayed their was way more of a warning sign than we gave it credit for

Same! About to start my 2nd shift.
Inspired, in part, by all the tireless organizing and volunteering that @gregpak.bsky.social has been doing, I spent some time this am phone banking for PA Dems to get out the vote.

First time phone banking and I was surprised how uplifting it was to talk to people about today! 🤞🤞

Go vote!
