We need to clamor for that even if the votes aren't there—yet.

What I love about this is either you've seen the Trump post and a London mayoral candidate is tying themselves to a figure who is almost universally reviled in London OR you haven't and it reads as threatening to put London into an ice age
It used to be said that the left was far too 'online', but it seems that this is increasingly (more) so for the right nowadays.

This perfectly demonstrates the pernicious nature of BBC two-sidism.

It almost always benefits the side with the most power.

In this case that's the side which is murdering peaceful protesters in the street, on camera, and then lying about it
The BBC coverage is absolutely terrible.

It leads on "sharply contested narratives"

It has a dramatic skew to the US government

It has posted the video but has failed to report on what it shows: it shows the US govt account is untrue

There is another universe where I never had to learn what a Nick Shirley was. He has got as far as testifying to congress and his single argument remains "they wouldn't let me look at the kids!"
I remain absolutely furious that all this shit in Minneapolis started because a barely-literate homeschooled mormon made a video trying to run up in daycare centers trying to find people of Somalian descent doing fraud despite the ringleader (a white woman) being in jail since March. Demonic.

We have been told for nearly 30 years that America needed to tolerate mass shootings because the broad availability of guns would help us defend ourselves from an overreaching federal government. That day has come. The people who said this are supporting the federal agents. Many have joined them.

In 1993 small-c conservatives in the United States were aghast at what they saw as federal armed brutality at the Waco siege.

The contrast with now is striking.

I'm really looking forward to hearing from the same people who have spent decades yelling about the Second Amendment that this shooting was somehow justified because the observer (allegedly) had a gun.

It turns out, it was never about *all* of our liberty.

Quite glad that the big story in British politics is whether Andy Burnham will apply to stand in a by-election and not people being gunned down by state militias.

Solidarity with Minnesotans resisting this barbarity.

Democratic governors need to start putting out wanted lists and forging extradition agreements. The goons brutalizing people with the expectation of federal protection need to know that they are not, in fact, protected by “absolute immunity”

This is fascinating.
This can have consequences for how agents see themselves. If they put on clothes designed for war, they are more likely to see cities as hostile terrain and citizens as enemy combatants, which can increase the chance of violence. Link to the story here:

I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening.

The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.

This is depressingly true. Can Minnesota state prosecute which would take them outside of his reach?
Trump can and will pardon the killers.

Jesus Christ.

Multiple goons had a man on the ground but that wasn't enough brutality for them. One had to pull his gun and shoot someone who was prone on the sidewalk.

They're going to tell us the agent feared for his life and was justified.

Execution squads roaming the streets of America.
I wish I hadn't watched that video. I never watched the killing of Renee Good and hope I never have to. I don't need to see it to fight it.

Today at least four federal agents were beating a man and then one of them (I think) shot him point blank while he was on the ground. More agents present.
January 24, 2026 at 3:51 PM
I know it's stating the obvious, but this is absolutely fucked up.
Initial report is that two observers got into a shoving match with eight agents, one observer was wrestled to the ground, and then an ICE agent pulled out a sidearm and shot the man on the ground five times.

Great thread
I remember a vid of a cop during the 2020 BLM protests parked outside a McDonald's drive-through sobbing coz she was "terrified" they'd done "something" to her food. I was like "make your own lunch then, dummy."

Now you see ICE dickheads similarly whining and I just go "quit your job then, dummy."

So, 3 broad possibilities here:
1) Rutte agreed to something of substance pre-cleared with Copenhagen & Nuuk
2) Rutte agreed to something of substance *not* pre-cleared with Copenhagen & Nuuk
3) Rutte agreed to something of no substance but that made Trump feel warm and fuzzy and important
Hahahahaha pathetic, well done Big Man you've torched the lot for nowt. See what happens when you stand up to the bully?
