I genuinely believe the most important thing that happened in film in 2025 was this Ryan Coogler PSA about the different ways to experience SINNERS in theaters. His enthusiasm and knowledge regarding aspect rations and formats were infectious, making the very act of seeing his movie seem thrilling.

You can test new tech ideas using the Seinfeld Test

Would the product eliminate the plot of an episode? (Google maps, cell phones, paypal, battery packs)

Good tech.

Would the product inspire new Seinfeld plots? (NFTs, AI chatbots, crypto currency, blindboxes, metaverse land sales)

Bad tech.

Catherine O’Hara was an actual genius who was currently doing the best work of her entire life, there was obviously so so so much more to see from her. This sucks so bad, but it’s also inarguable that she went out on the top of her game in a way that we can all only pray happens in our own lives

An absolute icon. Endless hours of joy from her many spectacular roles and performances. Will be rewatching Schitt’s Creek in her honor. And Best in Show. And and and. 💔 Rest in peace, Catherine O’Hara. And thank you.

Honestly just so sad over this. She was one of the greatest to ever do it. So funny, such a gift. What a searing loss.

Oh man, reading Catherine O’Hara has died makes me profoundly sad. Beetlejuice is one of my favorite movies ever and I’ve adored her ever since. Always so effortlessly funny and charismatic. I was lucky to interview her twice and she was so kind. What a joy of a person. RIP.

OMG THATS THE PERFECT ANALOGY! AI is like motion smoothing on smart TVs: nobody is asking for it, they only put it in because they figured out how to do it and think it sounds cool, and it’s extremely hard to explain the problem with it to those who just don’t see it
I want AI to improve my life in ways I don't notice or think about. Like satellites or MSG. It would make traffic lights more intelligent. it would diagnose illness more effectively. It shouldnt be forced on me like that stupid feature that no one likes that makes everything look shit on smart TVs

This is the large domino, with the small domino being some random quack in the UK in 1998 trying to undermine the existing MMR vaccine so his business partner can swoop in with his own. Instead he lost his work credentials and now kids are dying needlessly all over the world, so great job everyone.
Austria loses its WHO status as measles-free, too, together with Armenia, Azerbaijan Uzbekistan and Spain. This comes as no surprise, considering the rise in numbers in recent years and the decline in MMR vaccine coverage
