Honestly, a lot of people are reading -- more than pre-pandemic -- and maybe publishing houses should stop panicking and just be allowed to focus on cultivating authors AND readers, feeding and growing that audience. Wild concept, I know.

I got into ECCC Artist Alley but am deciding not to go. I haven't exhibited in six years so I feel unprepared, and I have time to get my act together but I could also... not do that lol. Sad bcuz I love Seattle, but relieved to have more time to think about my table display and plan new merch.

Perhaps an obvious point, but beyond a certain level of wealth, these numbers become meaningless. Those eight billionaires are mostly wielding political capital at this point; the bank balances are irrelevant. What this is a record of is therefore only what they *took* from everyone else.

I had a jam-packed day that was starting all wrong and to top it off I went to pick up my breakfast order at a packed local coffeeshop and their system processed my payment but not the order. While they made it, a random guy at the counter saw I was having a bad morning and called to me...
