Dad, husband, political dork. Mayor of Kenmore, WA

Disc golfer, #TBTL Ten, #Seahawks fan. Passionate about transit, housing, and climate - they're all inextricably connected, folks!
You have to love a playoff game where you're embarrassing your opponent so much that your 2nd string QB can get a good chunk of playtime in the 4th quarter!

Two days ago it was Elissa Slotkin. Last week it was Jerome Powell. Before that, Mark Kelly. Weaponizing the justice system against your opponents is an authoritarian tactic.

The only person not being investigated for the shooting of Renee Good is the federal agent who shot her.
Breaking news: The Justice Department has issued subpoenas for Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey as part of an investigation alleging that they are impeding federal law enforcement officers’ abilities to do their jobs in the state.

Law enforcement should never hide their identity - it erodes trust with the public, and decreases accountability. I hope this bill is quickly passed by the Senate and the House.
BREAKING: The Senate Law & Justice Committee just advanced SB 5855, Senator Valdez's bill to prohibit law enforcement from wearing masks and to require identifying information.

ICE is out of control. Let’s get that bill to my desk immediately so I can sign it into law.

The only reason this autoworker has the freedom to speak truth to power without fear of losing his livelihood is because he's in a union.
Amazing, a Ford worker called Trump a “pedophile protector” during his visit to an assembly plant in Michigan today.

In return, Trump, who has failed to release the Epstein files, yelled, “fuck you” and flipped off the worker.

Sometimes they just tell us they are weaponizing the criminal justice system to push their political agenda.
Sen. Kevin Cramer: "Maybe the point should be if you're the attorney for Jay Powell and you want to avoid an indictment, how about you go to Jeanine Pirro and say, 'I'll make a deal. I'll step down today if you drop the investigation today.' To me, that would be a win win for everybody."

The Pentagon used a secret aircraft painted to look like a civilian plane in its first boat attack, according to officials briefed on the matter.

The laws of armed conflict forbid combatants from feigning civilian status.

That is a war crime called "perfidy."

Any ties Renee Good had with any group is completely irrelevant to her killing. This is a distraction.

Local authorities should start the indictment process for Jonathan Ross, but the FBI is doing everything they can to muddy the waters and protect their state-sponsored thug.

I would strongly advocate that Democrats recognize that they could weaken Trump more effectively by holding impeachment hearings on some of his most out-of-control and vulnerable appointees.
IMPEACH: The case for Democrats to get moving on impeachment now—and what that would look like, and why it could help them rather than hurt them in the midterms. (And not just Trump but his terrible cabinet, too.)
