Do NOT license your voice to ElevenLabs.

Their highest-paid actor made $30k last year. Sounds a lot, but that’s from 1.2 bn paid uses - $0.000025 per job. ElevenLabs charge 20 cents per 1,000 words. So they’re making at least 8,000 times what their artists are.

Is there a better way of marketing my book to boost sales, without spending thousands on an ad campaign?

Asking cos I literally have 4 sales 😂😂

I’d appreciate any shares *he mentioned casually 😉*

Spent all afternoon teaching myself how to make a semi-respectable (you may disagree) #voiceover resume and now my eyes are bleeding. Anyhoo, here it is. I hope you like it 🙂

It baffles me that plays- words intended for performance- are taught as solely literary texts.

As soon as you get them up on their feet, you feel what it is-you understand the sounds, the meter, the shape of it all.

To quote Hamlet, on acting “suit the action to the word, the
word to the action”
This is a terrific idea - may it flourish like a Shakespearean fanfare.
(I first trained as a drama teacher and am horrified at how successive U.K. governments have strangled our schools’ arts curriculum.)

I can only admire Quinn's taste in literary criticism. But admiration that takes third place, after (2) his abs and (1) his superbly laid-back on-the-stairs dog.
Hi guys, Quinn here. I’m about to go hit the gym and work off all those donuts 😅 but I just wanted to let you guys know that tomorrow a new video drops! It’s all about the philosophical reasoning behind why science fiction fears artificial intelligence.

If your game has voice acting, then working with the voice actors is half of your writing process. It's not complete until you've heard it interpreted and reimagined by a voice actor. And they always reimagine it in ways that elevate the writing, in ways you never would have imagined yourself.

I recorded a small role for this splendid #DoctorWho fan series because, well, it's Doctor Who, innit? Handily, I feature right at the start, before the opening sequence (and that opening sequence is really rather brilliant).

Hey! I'm looking for people to help me with game/puzzle design to make a demo for my game. This is a paid position but I’ve got a small budget right now so I can’t pay industry rates, but the goal is to use the demo to find a publisher. Drop me a DM if you’re interested!

Was recently given a bike and the only place to put it is the thoroughfare between living room and kitchen and it's just a tiny bit too narrow and I keep walking into it. So, if my house was thinking about taking on any #HouseofLeaves traits, now would be a good time.

I've narrated a book about trains!

Written by the legendary journalist Paul Routledge with such palpable flair and gusto, I was genuinely surprised how much I loved doing this. And oh my goodness me there's even a quiz at the end. THERE'S A QUIZ AT THE END!

I remember laughing out loud reading this, not because it's a comedy (it isn't), but because the writing was so damned good it made me giggle with delight.
So it’s the tenth birthday of Midnight, a book that was nearly but not quite a lot of things. Happy birthday, little book. Still looking good.

Hurrah for this!
The more I see people using "casted" instead of "cast" the more I realize that I am a grumpy old fart who only wants to see the language evolve in my preferred directions, nevertheless I will happily judge you for it if I catch you doing it, look, my dude, the accepted past tense is shorter okay
