Yorkshireman, Verger and God-botherer bothered by God. Often found in climbing gyms or churches. Unapologetically trans 🏳️‍⚧️ He/They
Today has been spent doing some Lego building, and some practice for our upcoming carol concert..
Incredibly excited to get to sing in HT Goodramgate because it is just such a gorgeous and historic church. And keeping local traditions alive is also an ezcellent reason

“A Man on the Inside” is great for many reasons, but I really love that both seasons appreciate male friendship. Ted Danson and Stephen McKinley’s scenes together are just… everything.

In a way it is lovely to have the buzz about the place, but also disconcerting after five days of no public!

It's a Saturday during Christmas Market season after we've been closed all week for graduations, and boy do we know it 😅

This thread. I have passing privilege, but I will always be open about being trans -

If people are working through sifting the media noise from reality, they have knowingly met a Real Life Trans Person. And if they have awkward q's I'd rather they ask me than make someone else uncomfortable
On at least a weekly basis, "well meaning" cis people who call themselves "allies" ask me why I'm so loud about being trans. I'm mostly cis passing, I'm a lawyer, why do I have to announce I'm trans, they ask? I could just be "normal." By being so loud, they say, I bring the transphobia on myself.

Blessed beyond measure by two stunning sermons from our clergy yesterday, esp our Succentor who spoke from personal experience about faith, mental health, and sexuality.

Glad, but not surprised, that the community received it with love and allyship, and glad that she felt able to share it with us

Sent this card by a friend, and much needed the reminder. One day at a time finding the light and some self compassion ❤️ gentle reminder to all that need it too!

Something incredibly grounding about making it to lunchtime Eucharist at the parish church before I head home.

The welcome warm as ever, most of the same faces faithfully coming each week for fellowship, friendship, and sacrament.

Blessed to have this community still be part of my life

It will never fail to make me smile to hear dad sing me Happy Birthday - his stroke took much of his speech, but he can still manage that ❤️

My uncle is an excellent cook, but I could definitely tell that there was most of a bottle of red wine in the beef stew 😅

But in the grand scheme of my hard won sobriety, alcohol in food doesn't really bother me.

As long as I get my head on the pillow sober for tonight, that's the hard work done

Loving today's news that the mysterious "fedora man" outside the Louvre heist was actually a 15-year-old museum visitor who dresses like a 1940s French detective all the time, just because. apnews.com/article/louv...

Reassuring to know as I turn 31 quite soon that @canonrachel.bsky.social still regards me as a 'young person' 😅

Good to be able to fit in a flying visit to Hudds Parish Church before a meal out with family. A place that shaped me in ways I am still discovering

Been a bit of a rollercoaster week, but I'm glad to have finished work with a lovely chill day of training, Remembrance weekend prep and Choral Evensong.

Now on the train back to my parents as part of my pre-Advent leave - grateful for calmer days and taking help when it is offered

Victoria's response to kamikazi transphobe Linehan reminds us that angry men are happy to harass women in the name of (checks notes) women's rights and that if a trans woman appearing on tv sends them ballistic then this is not about women's rights, it's about the eradication of the trans community

On the downside we lost the pub quiz (three members down and I am not mentally on form right now)

On the plus side we chose 'His Dark Materials' to be the wooden spoon round next week so even though I'm away due to birthday shenanigans I think we've got a solid 5 points squared away

Suddenly when puberty blockers are given to cis kids, the Daily Mail (the same newspaper which backed Hitler btw) finally admits that "their effects are not permanent, and once a child lets their blocking treatment lapse, puberty will just continue as normal."

Which is true for trans kids too.
Because it’s cis kids.
The NHS will quite casually give cis kids whatever treatment they need, even PBs👇
No trials. No concerns about side effects. No moral panic.
