Yorkshireman, Verger and God-botherer bothered by God. Often found in climbing gyms or churches. Unapologetically trans 🏳️‍⚧️ He/They
Today has been spent doing some Lego building, and some practice for our upcoming carol concert..
Incredibly excited to get to sing in HT Goodramgate because it is just such a gorgeous and historic church. And keeping local traditions alive is also an ezcellent reason

Sent this card by a friend, and much needed the reminder. One day at a time finding the light and some self compassion ❤️ gentle reminder to all that need it too!

When I got paid I bought myself a beanbag chair and created a little reading space because I have been awful at doing any reading recently.

Tonight I'm trying it out and I may never move again (except to make more cups of tea)

Next thing is to get a lamp so I can have it a little darker 🥰

The most excellent birthday party of a friend who decided to go with a soviet union theme because they are ridiculous, then painted and hid submarines around their flat for us to find. I'm just walking home now after being up since 6am but it was so so worth it

The Goodest of Dogs as we had the newest training police dogs come to do familiarisation training in the Minster building - I wish I'd got a picture of them sending the dog up to the Arch's Throne, the CT caption competition could have been superb

Does mean I get to hang out and look at one of our best banners though

Had a rough few weeks with both mental health and addiction issues, and a hard work meeting yesterday.

I had leave booked ages ago for this weekend, but time away felt a little dangerous just rattling round my flat, so I've escaped to Scarborough. And God brought their paintbrush for the sky ❤️

As far as places to pad around in socks to help re-regulate during sensory overload, the Consistory Court is a pretty decent place.

Grateful for noise cancelling headphones and colleagues who give me space. Less grateful for the busker outside but she has a living to make too!

My new counsellor is working at a 'rent an office space' sort of gig in central York, and today was the first time I used the bathroom before our session - it is so gloriously co-working professional office space and this guy made me grin because why is this in your toilets? 😅

The slightly concerning thing is it isn't the first time for me - for the CofE Youth Council tenth birthday we had some inflatables and among them for some inexplicable reason was a whale

Returning the emotional support animal to the children's corner and being reminded of what a gloriously ridiculous job this is

It has been an exhausting day (both physically and mentally) so knowing I would get home to this has been a huge motivator in keeping going in all honesty.

Day off pootling took me past Shambles which meant I saw these lovely crochet creations all hanging out in jail - I may have come home with the rainbow bee.

Counselling this afternoon is being followed by Evensong in order to re-regulate. It is good to do the work but it *is* work #selfcare

Just got home and flumped onto the sofa. Think a rare takeaway is called for - joyful day in many ways, but the braincells are done and have left the building (and had largely done so by Evensong...)

But God is so very good, and the Church have gained an excellent Bishop in Leah #thanksbetoGod

#tinyjoys Back to work after a week off feeling refreshed. Excellent colleagues. Preparations for a busy week next week including a consecration and a Diocesan pilgrimage visit. Clergy leaving hand puppets in the Vestry to be passed to our children's group tomorrow

Local model shop have an excellent addition to their window display this week 😅

News Just In: Chasubles are 'hella drippy' 😅 Had to interpret the yoof speak for my clergy colleagues, and that added to the general hilarity

Vergers sharing a single braincell in processional synchronicity here 😅 #madskills

Day off wanderings meant I finally found courage to step over the threshold of All Saints.

Immediately immersed in childhood memories of Good Friday when some of the Layclerks would come for a Stations service.

Grateful for the space, but knew it would be bittersweet, hence the apprehension

With apologies for lack of alt text but have some behind the scenes pictures of various bits of the Minster

Decided to walk into town to get my train home, as it was only lightly raining. 3/4 of the way there the heavens absolutely opened and so I now resemble a gently drowned rodent.

And of course the second I managed to get inside, the weather became glorious again #greatBritishsummer

And today is 9 years on Testosterone 🥳

My levels are all over the place after I'd had to miss a few shots so I'm trying to get my bloodwork sorted, but it still feels remarkable and joyful to have been on T for so long!

It is rare, in the odd new format service registers that we use now, that clergyfolk fill this column in but this gave me a good chuckle this morning

Thanks to the generosity of colleagues for my 'birthday' I have a chocolate muffin for pre-BCP sustenance this morning. They're a good bunch of wonderful folks
