Important decision for V2G in Germany: parliament approves a legislative amendment that exempts electricity stored and supplied by bidirectional charging cars from energy tax and network costs. This makes the business case viable (and equivalent to large stationary batteries).

The two sprays compared were Vicks First Defence (which I use, not very pleasant but does seem to help) and Sterinase (but probs other saline sprays the same). Useful to know they have solid evidence! Thanks for sharing @alomshaha.bsky.social
Congratulations to Professor Paul Little, winning Royal College of General Practitioners Research Paper of the Year 🌟

Saline nasal sprays offer so much potential as a public health intervention to reduce viral illnesses. Easy to use, relatively cheap and widely available.

A lot of people suggesting the state pension age needs to go up further - this is the first time I’ve seen a guaranteed minimum payout suggested, however. Might that sweeten the pill?
Today @stevewebb1.bsky.social and I released a report setting out our views on where State Pension Age (SPA) needs to go. We submitted to this to the Government SPA review last month.

We recommend sharp increases to SPA, but with a guaranteed payout of 5 years. 🧵

Where next for State Pension Age?
Experts at LCP have proposed major changes to the UK's State Pension system, designed to make it more sustainable while ensuring it remains fair for those with lower life expectancy.

Great clip with Richard Chambers calling out Simon Harris’ ‘sleight of hand’ blaming immigrants for the #FFFG catastrophic housing policies 🤦🏾‍♀️

SH wants us “to be mad at immigrants…” for this government’s decades long failure in housing, planning, dereliction, services…🤯

5. The trick to organising a night out where you get the gang together is to invite people one at a time. No debate on dates or venues.

If you send a message to 31 people it'll be chaos. But gradually assembling a crew, Oceans Eleven style, that guarantees a quality turnout.

This is the USA, Florida arguably the most corrupt state in the US is now going to ensure that all those life affirming diseases, measles, meningitis pneumonia will make a return.
FL is moving forward w/ plan to end all childhood vaccine mandates. Starting with hepatitis B, chickenpox, and the bacteria causing meningitis and pneumonia. Then next year GOP FL legislature is expected to revisit 1977 law re: whooping cough, measles, polio, rubella, mumps, diphtheria, and tetanus.

This will be interpreted by the tech industry as a signal of impunity.

As we await a verdict in the trial of Soldier F, another reminder that in 2010 the Bloody Sunday inquiry found

- the killings were unjustified
- none of the 14 dead (7 of whom were children) had guns
- no warnings were given
- no soldiers were under threat
- the troops were the first to open fire

Free travel for pensioners has worked for the urban, & at minimal marginal cost, surely the same approach for broadband (with advisory support) could really be worthwhile, at virtually no additional cost. NB most pensioners can’t pay for it anyway.

I can’t imagine that this sits well with many Fine Gael supporters, never mind folk like me. This is much more important than Fridays vote
In case you're wondering, the EPP is the EU parliamentary group co-founded and adhered to by Fine Gael, Heather Humphrey's party.

Be in no doubt: a vote for her on Friday is a vote against nature.
EPP in coalition with far-right groups once again joined forces to attack environmental ambition in the EU, voting down the EU’s proposed law on forest monitoring, calling on the Commission to withdraw the proposal entirely. www.euractiv.com/news/europea...
