Any Firebase experts here? I'm trying to work out if it's possible to create a dashboard that shows all usage and costs that includes calls to third party APIs, at the moment it seems very scattered and can't even see the latter.

Been forcibly introduced to using a slow cooker and, well, OK, maybe I can see why this is useful. Who has good veggie slow cooker recipes they want to share?

The forgotten medlar. My parents have one that I've been pruning for a few years and it has made it crazy productive. Nearly 100kg this year. Mostly going into liqueur for a local maker! But we might do some jam.

This extended QWOP game sounds amazing and I am very annoyed that it does not appear to be available for a PS4. www.theguardian.com/games/2025/o...
I cannot stop playing this preposterous game about falling down a mountain
A week with Baby Steps has made me feel like I’m losing my grip. Is this game stupid, or am I the stupid one for playing it?

Still waiting for everyone to have read this. What is the hold up huh? A terrifying dive into the childishly venal and dysfunctional Meta/Facebook psyche is proper Halloween reading 👻 😱
I am quite poorly and I am reading Careless People. The mood is dark. It is more shocking than I expected, in some ways. Who else has read it and wants it belatedly Bsky bookclub it?

Per the @dpcarrington.bsky.social article on wood stoves, I asked if there were any ways to mitigate indoor air pollution as I do need to use mine sometimes. This seems like good advice.
1) Get a decent air filter with an automatic sensor that comes on when pollution is detected. 2) use a PM2.5 face mask during when reloading the stove and the door is open. 3) PM2.5 sensors are cheap, get one. 4) Only use hard wood dried for several years.

This is an excellent stance. I’ve really been trying to stop doing it, because I realised I tell petty small lies out of a difficulty with drawing boundaries.

I *never* lie. Lying is socially and psychologically corrosive, and when you stop, you realise it is almost always done out of cowardice.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?
