On his last day as President, I can honestly say I will miss Michael D Higgins in the Aras so much. He has been a magnificent Head of State for us and I think Robinson is the only one who was at his level, certainly in my lifetime. Go raibh maith agat, a Uachtaráin.

Today's D&D game threatened violence a lot, but ultimately the session was discovery and discussion, then an offer that thankfully the party rogue could refuse. We got to the end, *then* we rolled initiative...

Happy Sunday! We're at that special time of year when I spend every waking moment googling the phrase "2025 gender pay gap report" to find data, so if you've ever wanted to help me, now is your moment. Find a report? Send it to me however works for you. #genderPayGap

Really awkward performance from Ireland, even in a 41-10 victory. Sure, they were, eventually, the better team, but AUS & RSA must very much feel strong favourites in the next two tests. #IREvJPN

Back in Lansdowne, first time this season, for #IREvJPN Here's hoping for a mighty bounce back from the boys in green!

On the way home after an excellent #HEAnet2025 conference. I now know a lot more about quantum computing, security training, space and a whole host of other things than I did before. Looking forward to #ASIERA2026 next year!

I cannot recommend this series highly enough. Heart of Stone is the first novel, but there is so much more in this wonderful world, and I'm so glad they are being released again. Buy this book, and the one after it, and the one after that...
It's aaaaliiiiiive!!! HEART OF STONE is now available again! Vampires and dragons and djinn, oh my! Welcome to the world of the Old Races as Margrit Knight discovers her hot new client isn't just wanted for murder - he's also a gargoyle!

If you're one of The Adults In The Room™ in Ireland you can be on a fat state pension in your 40's while arguing for welfare cuts, go bankrupt running a bookies, FF will still pay you to banjax their presidential run, and you'll still be invited on the airwaves to talk shite forever

Well, fuck. Much to analyse, but that's a solid loss to New Zealand. Ireland couldn't score enough when they had the ball, after an amazing stand in the first 30m. Onwards. #IREvNZL

FF & FG forget that the dream of a free Ireland was one of a socialist republic.

A society which cares for each other.

One which did not hand education, healthcare and social welfare to The Church and it's 'holy' orders.

One which does not seek to profit from the misery of people living here.

#IREvNZL used to be an almost forgone conclusion, but not anymore. That said, a YC inside 3m, especially for one of our best players, won't help at all!

British people, remember, if you can say someone isn't a prince anymore, you can decide that nobody is a king or queen anymore as well! (Also, he's getting off *so* lightly!)

Saying that it's "too hard" to get on the Irish president ballot when an independent woman got the entire Irish left to back her, got the biggest vote ever and beat two historically dominant parties is not just wrong - it is breathtakingly offensive and outrageously dishonest.

Recent Aras elections saw multiple candidates get through process via Oireachtas or local authority support - 1997 had 5 candidates, 2011 had 7 and 2018 had 6. There is no need to change the system because the 2025 motley crew were late to process, poor quality or not serious about running at all.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin has said the Oireachtas may have to look at changing the process by which a person gets on the ballot in presidential elections, which he described as "restrictive".

Not only is this on track to be the highest FPV% ever in a Presidential election, it's also going to be the highest raw vote total in a Presidential election. Historic performance from Catherine Connolly. #Áras25

There we go so, Connolly is elected President of Ireland in an absolute landslide! Huge congratulations to her and her team. Very happy with that! #Aras25
