got my ATI Radeon X1900XT running under Windows XP on the Z690 + 14900K 3D bench rig somehow and recorded a lil preem footage of one of the best GPUs of 2006 running the hottest benchmark of that year, and I micc'd her up for ~spicey fan noises~

cannot emphasize enough how every early Astronaut was a drunk-ass hotshot test pilot swearing and being inappropriate at all times. The modern Astronaut archetype of "a nerdy Starfleet science officer" was predated by "a drunk guy who is REALLY good at flying VERY fast planes in a dangerous manner"

"not assuming" becomes "everybody is they/them" which doesn't seem helpful
It feels weirdly invalidating when used in a targeted way (surprise! you actually did assume!), and when used for EVERYONE kinda seems like non-binary erasure; removing meaning from pronouns thru genericization

hot take: I think we should go back to assuming peoples pronouns. if we get it wrong, we should be corrected, say "thank you for correcting me", and not get it wrong again.
