Watching Yash Chopra's KABHI KABHIE (1976). Genuinely, is there anything sexier or more romantic than laying on the ground in a garden listening to Amitabh Bachchan recite poetry he just wrote about your loveliness?

Chicago. The world loves their music. I don’t.
I love your incorporation of music into your works you’ve a broad musical taste. What’s your least favorite musical act? Is there a song that has you scrambling to shut off your radio?

Watching the Ford first, obviously. It's crazy that MY DARLING CLEMENTINE might literally have the best nighttime B&W cinematography ever filmed and yet many people still consider it a second-tier Ford film.
I might be out sick from work today, but my November Criterion haul just got here. This is what I call a win!

I mean...oh man...this is bad. I don't know if I'll ever be able to watch his movies again. Career-ending, reputation-destroying stuff.
Wong Kar-Wai Faces Career-Ending Backlash in China as ‘Blossoms’ Scandal Explodes — World of Reel
The slow-burning disaster surrounding “Blossoms Shanghai,” which is supposed to have its North American premiere next month, has now reached a point where it’s hard to see how he recovers from this.

Do you know who my favorite band in middle school was? Lostprophets. Haven't listened to them since the Ian Watkins stuff came out.
"what if someone you like is on the Epstein list?"

When I was in my early 20s stories about the abuse committed by The Casualties frontman Jorge Herrera began to seep out. I dropped em like a wet sack of shit.

When Justin Sane turned out to be a monster, I deleted Anti-Flag from my music library.

Watching Alexander Sokurov's WHISPERING PAGES (1994). Honestly thank God for bleak, dreary, soul-sucking Russian art cinema. Look at this thing. This is an actual still from the movie. I assure you, this is in fact a color film, not one shot in black-and-white.

The value of reading history is you know that in 1860 there were abolitionists who were so demoralized that they thought chattel slavery would be permanent. 5 years later those still alive had lived to see its end.

Everyone now: “Oh.”

Bill Watterson says Hobbes isn’t a doll who comes to life; Calvin sees him one way, everyone else another. He wrote about reality being subjective. This seems a main lesson of his hero Charles M Schulz. Only the kids know how complicated they are. Snoopy IS a writer.

Did a 90s rewatch double feature of Thelma & Louise and Devil in a Blue Dress. Both are spectacular star vehicles. And both have supporting performances from relative unknowns that made audiences ask, “Who in the world is THAT?”
