I genuinely don't think any other single line read has so irrevocably changed my brain chemistry as this one did when I first saw it at 15 years old.

I might be out sick from work today, but my November Criterion haul just got here. This is what I call a win!

Watching Alexander Sokurov's WHISPERING PAGES (1994). Honestly thank God for bleak, dreary, soul-sucking Russian art cinema. Look at this thing. This is an actual still from the movie. I assure you, this is in fact a color film, not one shot in black-and-white.

I used to get paid to write like this. Like with actual human money that I spent on food and rent. Incredible. The world is full of miracles.

Man, we were laughing about this on reddit just yesterday.

Rest in peace, Donna-Jean. We love you.

My new secretaries and terrible. They're much more interested in napping than in helping me write my stewardship sermon.

Genuinely touched by this top rated comment beneath the Grateful Dead's "Touch of Grey" music video.

They just posted this on their facebook page. If any of you could help with a donation, they'd really appreciate it.

Watching the Grateful Dead with sleepy kittens is how God intended for us to spend Sunday afternoons after church. Trust me, I am in fact a pastor, incredibly enough.

For a few years now I've been working my way through Jonathan Rosenbaum's alternative list of the 1000 greatest films ever. I've discovered some of my favorite films doing this, but for some insane reason he also included HARDLY WORKING (1980) so now I'm being forced to watch Jerry Lewis do...this.

I still legitimately can't believe that PENNIES FROM HEAVEN (1981) is real.

I feel like this picture really sums up our dynamic.

You guys, I've had these two for about three hours and I think they've already cured my clinical depression.

Some news! I adopted a pair of kittens! Their names are Cass and Steph—after the Batgirls, of course.

These just came in the mail. About to settle in for a weekend of Cinema with a capital-C. Genuinely don't know which I'll watch first. (I'm lying, of course, it's obviously the Makhmalbaf.)
