By day I'm a producer in the games industry, happily making little spreadsheets and Gantt charts, and by night I improvise nonsense or wander around stage with a microphone.
The queer cafe near me does art exhibitions on its walls by local/queer artists based on themes and changes then every few months. It's with deep sadness that they have now changed to a new exhibition, meaning they've taken down all the artwork from the previous theme: Sonic the Hedgehog.

Despite having been in games for eight years (and studying to get into the industry before that) I still feel very much like an outsider for some reason, like I've always struggled to make friends and community here and I'm not sure why.

I have finally got round to watching the first episode of The X Files, and I'm not sure if people are aware of this, but it's good stuff.

I am older than gender markers on passports! How do you regulate gender? By making it a form of government ID. It has nothing to do with state security, only regulation

My friend's clip from the BBC New Comedy Awards has gone up on socials and predictably she's facing a tirade of racist abuse. God's sake.

Mechanically I am enjoying Marvel's Midnight Suns, but narratively... I am very tired of superhero dialogue.

Glad Dana Cardinal is popping up again in Night Vale, but I am of the opinion that every show would be improved by the presence of Jasika Nicole.

Stand up comedy slots tend to work in fives/ten/twenties/full hour. Obviously some flexibility but it's a good general rule.

Improv slots seem to be twenty five minutes for no discernable reason.

Looking at the registration form for GDC and they don't even include production or QA or narrative or UI as a role you can have as a game developer 😩

All my friends are appearing on TV at the minute and it's wonderful, I think it should happen more.

There's a Japanese restaurant in town that's been open since I was a kid and a few years ago the original owners retired and sold it on to someone who tried to make it more upmarket and not as good, but they have now sold it on to someone who's brought it back to how it was and it's great again!

I really loved Pauline's show up in Edinburgh this year, she's just so funny and so engaging that even someone like me with no knowledge of tennis could have a great time. Honestly tempted to go again when it tours.

I'm not counting it in my comedy list because it's my made up rules but went to an evening of poetry by Robin Ince tonight and it was delightful. Finished off with Let Me Celebrate You Now, which is probably my favourite of his.

Just saw the phrase "you don't need to be working in games to be making games" which is obvious now it's written down but also absolutely something I needed to read.

Representation of asexuality in media saw a huge surge in 1990 with the release of the film Ghost, with Patrick Swayze's character being explicitly Demi-sexual.
