In the old days, you'd occasionally run into somebody totally normal who had one utterly insane belief, like a co-worker who just causally says he thinks the sun is alive. I sort of admire the proper old fashioned cigarette smoker, they know it's killing them, it's expensive, they stink, they are outcasts from everywhere, even their own homes, yet they still crack on and really seem to enjoy it.

Forty nine billion quid? Would it not make more sense to connect all the airports that call themselves ‘London’ with some kind of fast transfer service? I know - I expect it’s more to serve layover/connecting flights but still.
