More great feedback for my novel, Team Of One, the person having read the article in The Psychologist:

'I’ve just bought and read, Team of One on this recommendation. Could barely put it down over 48 hrs. Thank you Penny Priest.'

Great analogy.
It's like the crocodile story Ken Clarke once told me. You can feed buns to the crocodiles until the cows come home.
Once you run out of buns, they'll eat you anyway.
They'll never stop.

Repeated across the country.
"Yorkshire Water was privatised in 1989 under the Water Act, launched debt-free and promoted as the start of a new, efficient era.

What followed was anything but. Today, the company carries almost £7bn in debt. Our rivers are polluted, our bills keep rising, and we’re told to pay still more..."

Handing the company back to local people would return both control and value to those who need it most

I have a feature essay for The Guardian today on the mirage of AI medicine, why care cannot be automated, and how overwhelming uptake of AI by American health capitalism threatens to undermine the very possibility of democracy.

Donald Trump’s demand for a billion dollars from the BBC comes from a local Florida law firm. It was sent to the wrong address, and the writer didn’t know what ‘salacious’ really means: ‘Due to their salacious nature, the fabricated statements that were aired by the BBC…’

The Midlands Psychology Group has written a lot about the effects of capitalism and neoliberalism on mental health (via competition, inequality and corrosion of community), e.g. in the book, Outsight.

I like your idea of focusing on loneliness.
