When these children grow up, if they grow up, they will be inconsolable when they realize their parents could have prevented them from getting a debilitating disease that could have lifelong consequences. They CHOSE not to. A disease that was basically eradicated from modern society.
To my surprise, CDC is still tracking how many children RFK condemns to measles. Cases are getting younger and, of course, it is spreading faster.

That’s where I am landing, mostly.
I'm all for second chances, but these people caused measurable harm and need to put in the work of trying to undo that damage. To me, that shows some kind of sincere desire to make things right. Otherwise, they're just people who are upset that the face-eating leopards ate their face.

One element of this that I think is important, for me personally, is that folks who have “changed sides” or “seen the light” shouldn’t be clamoring for positions of leadership. Someone who is radically changing opinions while still trying to lead reeks of self-serving false belief.

I’ll keep saying it: many companies have certifications requiring every line of code written to be approved by two additional people. This is a brake on how much you can feasibly do in a timeframe.
Adding code with no author does nothing to improve the burden on reviewers.

Watching pro AI people in Reddit discussions about slop PRs (code edit submissions to open source public software projects) complaining "What's the problem just review the PRs, if they're good merge them" really underlines a lot of the problematic way that AI boosters devalue respect for labour.
