Rep. Luz Rivas started out with a STEM career. Then she formed a nonprofit encouraging girls to go into STEM. Then she leveraged that into a career as a politician. Rivas could be a role model especially for Latinas growing up. Hope this freshman can shine!

Will Harrell win? Very plausible: I'd even rather be him at this stage! But not what calls are about.

About 60% has been counted. Gap is 5.7%. Wilson needs to win what's left by 9%; she won what was counted today by 3.5%.

Speaker Johnson is officially keeping the House in recess again next week. This will be the eighth consecutive week the House has been out of session. The chamber hasn't met since Sept. 19. Adelita Grijalva, who was elected on Sept. 23, has not been sworn in.
