I note that Gareth Roberts thinks that the BBC turned to the dark side in 2012, which is funnily enough about the time the BBC more or less stopped employing him.

Neo-horror where an undead Bond comes back and terrorizes the modern day British policy apparatus in an allegory about the country’s inability to face down the regrettable aspects of its imperial past.

Ah right that would be why we were arming Ukraine when nobody else would.
Bond makes no sense without the Cold War. Britain and the US are now Russian stooges with the US providing diplomatic support and Britain giving the oligarchs stately homes to swan around in and berths for their super yachts. Who’s he gonna spy on? Elon?

That does actually work now I come to think about it.
Bond canon is like the X-Men comics. Started in the 1960s and continues to the present day but everything is happening in a relative "Now" in a weird stretchy timeline. But also all of the events of the non-Craig Bond films from Dr No to Die Another Day happen between Spectre and No Time To Die.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

Trouble with the idea of a period Bond is that the Bond films only work if they are absolutely up to the minute, because at their best they appeal to all ages. Set one in the Sixties and you might as well be remaking Hot Enough For June or Some Girls Do. You won't sell any toys off the back of it.

Incidentally the cited post in this blog contains a flagrant example of a very American racism, where they cannot comprehend that your origin isn't your nationality or culture. The 'South Asian' gentleman may be of 'South Asia[n]' heritage, or may in fact be an immigrant, but you can't know this.
The collapse of Noah Smith from 'interesting writer whose occasionally a bit random' into 'complete idiot and mentalist' is one of the most clear cut cases of twitter-poisoning I've seen
Noah Smith is paid in the high six-figures to write a blog read by Americans who believe themselves to be intelligent. Yet, he is both unable to read a sign and also for some reason chose to have a 90 minute layover for a flight that takes 90 minutes.

Far left-wing antisemites want to claim that Jews are “too white” and don’t belong in Israel.

Their shared goal? Perpetual homelessness for Jews— anywhere we go.

Just full on imperialism here.
Indeed, the European Union is playing way too nice with a bad faith third country and should use its full leverage, including opening negotiations directly with Scotland for streamlined accession talks.
The balance of power is not reflected by UK media and the Brits discussing it. Time to rebalance.

I’m going to say it again for the people at the back: Connery through to Brosnan is the mainline James Bond continuity. Daniel Craig’s Bond is the equivalent of Ultimate Marvel. You don’t have to write yourself out of Bond’s death because you can just pick up where Die Another Day left off.
