Oh shit, it's 2025, so time for a new one-post review thread of every game I play this year! I use an x/10 ranking because it helps convey general sentiment with limited characters. 10 is Maximum Finn Shit, 5 is OK, 1 Super Bad.

I didn't play Braid when it came out. I remember watching this video and thinking it was a low effort "laugh at the hipster" bit. Having finally played Braid I'm kind of amazed at how true the video is and how mad I am that this garbage gave us "father of indie games" Jonathan Blow.

Hey, there's a Steam sale on. What if a cool and very attractive guy just put together a list of 50 games you could check out. A guy whose very sick cat has made an excellent recovery beyond vet expectations??
I was too busy being miserable about my very sick cat to pay attention to the Game Awards this year. Nevertheless, a thread of 50 indie game recommendations:

My hot take on this is that what's ultimately responsible is the pervasive (and my view almost completely false) belief that there's a meaningful element of challenge and problem solving to RPGs and that if you lose a character it's because you're "unskilled" in them.
The thing I despise most in a TTRPG—more than "immersion," even—is when people play defensively, which is to say they don't do anything if it's even remotely dangerous for their character. It's especially galling in my games, *since your character literally cannot be killed unless you agree to it.*
