So much for the DOJ’s tradition of only filing cases that are a sure thing…
DOJ has been abandoning a truly incredible share of the criminal cases it filed in D.C. this year.

Today, it asked a judge to dismiss yet another, this one involving a man charged with illegally possessing a gun "in light
of legal and evidentiary issues."

This is amazing. Knowing what causes it means we can start finding gene targeted cures.
Medical Republic: 'Fibromyalgia finally gets a genetic fingerprint'

'Additionally, certain risk loci overlapped with long covid (BPTF) and ME/CFS (OLFM4, RABGAP1L/GPR52), two poorly characterised disorders, albeit with different lead variants.'

Just saw a person pretend to speak french when a dude at the airport lounge wouldn’t leave them alone. “Parlez vous francais?” (with no distiguiable french accent). Well played my friend, well played.

One last sunset in Puerto Vallarta as we head north. Next stop: Seattle.

Look at this sweet, very good boy who walked under our table at dinner and hung out while we ate.

i need all my transit-heads and city-planning-heads to go take this survey the city is doing about fixing the dangerous streets near my house and encourage them to just ludicrously maximize pedestrian and bike safety to the brutal ruinous detriment of cars

For a brief, shining moment I thought Greasy Jesus was leaving…
Biggest takeaways from Ned Grabavoy's exit presser:
- Ayala, Mora, Chara, and Pantemis all had 2026 options picked up
- Paredes had option declined, will be departing club
- Da Costa dealt with recurring & limiting shoulder injury since Leagues Cup
- Jona not expected back until July #RCTID

Y’all…I’m waiting for the worst hotel experience to end (we left this hotel Monday). After our first room had broken AC my dad forgot a couple things when they moved us. We didn’t even realize because things were fucking chaotic. 36 hours later we checked out and the said nothing.

I thought about light pollution both times I landed in CDMX. SO, so bad.
Lots of folks captioning aurora photos like "for a few minutes we didn't think about politics"

guess I'm built different, every time I'm out trying to see night sky stuff I frequently think about how much light pollution is entirely preventable with just a tiny bit of regulation

For those interested- Vida Massage in PVR is fantastic.

It took a little to get used to a totally silent massage but it’s kinda nice not to have to make small talk.

As all this disgusting Epstein shit starts surfacing more and more, I hope we don't lose sight of the fact that apparently every major media outlet knew everything and instead spent their time money and energy attacking the trans community.

So on Epstein, the Democratic position should be "Trump should resign." If you are a Democratic elected, practice saying "We demand the president's resignation" in front of a mirror as many times as it takes until the dry-heaving that comes from having a phobia about actually doing politics passes.

Well that was fun. Left my bag in an uber yesterday and finally just got it back but not until he tried to extort us for 500 pesos (cash…which we didn’t have). As a bonus my wallet is gone so I got to call and cancel the cards that were in it.

Ran into a Sounders fan in Puerto Vallarta and we couldn’t even heckle each other.

Both teams crashed out but I guess he can sit smugly with the thought that they’re not owned by MP.

We switched hotels today…and now we’re at my favorite place in Puerto Vallarta. It’s the oldest hotel in town and not a party vibe. Now we’re on the terrace for happy hour and it is Delightful.

I really enjoy Puerto Vallarta…but I am not sure I could handle it here full time. It’s November…and it’s 78 degrees and 77% humidity at 9pm.
