Bit of a sleepyhead. Hot showers forever!
ODOT originally blew up the whale. ODOT needs funding. Is there a way to get ODOT funded and the whale blown up at the same time?

A 46-foot-long fin whale washed ashore in Clatsop County on the Oregon coast Saturday morning. Officials from the Seaside Aquarium said the whale had already been dead for some time before washing up on the beach.

there should be a high fantasy author who hates writing about food. "and then king aelfrid joined the dwarven feast and quickly wolfed down some ham and a corn or whatever. back to magic"

I have found pre-cut steamer basket liners at kitchen kaboodle. I have not seen them at winco, Fubonn, hong phat or cash & carry. Is there another place that stocks them or am I reliant to KK?

You as a kid - Puts a piece of plywood over a cinderblock at the bottom of a hill that leads into a gravel ditch that leads into the woods to make a bike jump.

You as an adult - My kid will never do something ridiculous like climb furniture to reach a toy.

My last mah jongg class is this morning. I’m looking forward to sleeping in next weekend.

There may still be spots for PP&R’s next session but I think it’s age limited to 55+. I don’t know if they ever asked proof of age though so you could potentially lie a bit.

This week I’m trialing my last new towel. It’s the LL Bean organic cotton towel. It’s an odd towel, kind of a cross between a towel and a baby blanket. The texture is nubby and it’s thin. It absorbs fine and dries between uses so it functions as a towel but it’s not my replacement choice.

this was a thing in new york too and I'm on board
I lived in the UK during early covid and for a while there was this thing where everyone went outside at a certain day/time to cheer for NHS doctors/nurses/staff, and well I think it would be lovely if we did that but for booing JD Vance
I'm at the Olympics and the entire stadium booed JD Vance. 😌

I just had a bite of extra onion-y salsa and thought, thank goodness I’m no longer married to someone who hates onions.

It should come as no surprise that Noem heads an agency full of people who kick and shoot dogs. This isn’t the first story like this.

There’s a video with the kick upstream from the quote.

It can be frustrating to work in a field with common meanings and legal meanings where they can overlap but not necessarily. Sometimes you have extra paperwork because of detail x but that doesn’t always apply because of y. And I know it because it’s my job but explaining it is hard.

I've told this story on ContrabandCamp but it's worth sharing for BHM because it's one of the greatest stories ever.

A thread.

Reheating soup for dinner and was reminded of a conversation from thanksgiving. SIL was grousing about brother putting the soup and noodles in separate containers.

Growing up, we always kept them separate until they meet in the bowl. Leftovers soup is a different container from leftover noodles.

I have managed to get my whole house cleaned within a span of 24 hours for the first time In a while. I had been cleaning parts but not as a whole. Not a great job (C-), but the kitchen sink and counter are clean at the same time.

Not the point at all, but if Stone is wearing one of the suits he’s trying to sell, it’s not a good advertisement. The cut makes him look hip-y.
It’s a really bad sign if they are calling up Roger Stone who ran the Brooks Brothers riot in 2000 (to stop the Florida recount), cavorted with the Proud Boys & Oath Keepers before Jan 6, & was a primary architect of so-called “Stop the Steal” campaigns in 2016, 2018, and 2020, 1/
