Spray paint a plane and they'll detain you without trial and call you a terrorist.

Kidnap a foreign head of state - and Keir Starmer will make it clear we've played no part in it but will wait for the scheduled press conference in a few hours before potentially condemning it

I genuinely wonder how many intelligence agencies are now making decapitation strike plans of their own, against targets they see as 'legitimate'. I assume next time Trump proposes annexing Canda a crack team of mounties will ride to DC to bring him to justice.

fwiw it’s been about six weeks since Trump pardoned the former president of Honduras who had been convicted of trafficking drugs into the US

Its notable that a decapitation strike, aimingto kidnap the leader, is what Russia attempted to do in Ukraine.

The world must boycott the World Cup and the Olympics.

It is both the only moral choice and will actually get the attention of these dead-eyed clout demons.

Imagine being such an awful piece of shit that you have to kidnap the leader of a foreign country to distract your population from all the evil things you've done.
Wait, WHAT?!
BREAKING: Trump says the U.S. has carried out a 'large scale' strike against Venezuela and captured President Nicolas Maduro and his wife.

Saying "Some TERFs made their own awards called "TERFies" & voted Donald Trump "Best Politician (Non-UK)"" would get you accused by "Reasonable Moderates" of making up stuff to smear their side but they actually did it.

They had even more Awards than this & they get more & more unhinged.
the terfies have been awarded.

( the terfies are annual bigotry awards the terfs hand out )

anyway i couldn't stop laughing when i noticed that @bphillipsonmp.bsky.social is their pick for worst politician in the entire uk. even i don't think that and she's literally persecuting me.

This *has* to be the year Britain kills off fascist ideology.

And a good start would be anyone who publishing articles like this facing criminal charges for hate speech.

Unfortunately our government agree with her.
“This must be the year Britain finally kills off gay ideology”

“This must be the year Britain finally kills off disabled ideology”

“This must be the year Britain finally kills off black ideology”

…See how bigoted it sounds!?

Also note the radicalisation of Suzanne Moore via transphobia!

If you let nazis into your bar. You end up with a bar full of nazis. This seems like a sensible decision as far as I'm concerned.
Well, would you want bigots pushing a hard right billionaire funded patriarchal agenda in your boozer?

It drives me nuts when a terrible person dies, and we are all supposed to pretend they were great, like telling the truth is somehow uncouth.

Brigette Bardot was a truly despicable racist, homophobe, bigot, and lifelong supporter of fascists. Acknowledge her work, I guess, but don't celebrate her.

Rewatching Muppets Christmas Carol (as is only correct on Christmas Eve), and its struck me how odd it must be to be Michael Caine, and to know, with absolute certainty, that while plenty of fine actors have played Scrooge, no one will ever be able to do so better than him.

So the show itself was pretty decent. Not the greatest play ever, but definitely worth seeing, and with a few interesting theatrical touches that I'll avoid spoiling here.

The main issue it had was pacing, where both acts felt rushed, and where moments of import lacked weight as a result...
Watching the Hunger Games stage show this evening. Picking Canary Wharf as the location for the theatre is kind of inspired, as the whole area has always felt very wealthy, and very unwelcoming.

Final christmas commission done, ready to hand off to the client tomorrow. Pretty chuffed with how it came out, and in a truly chaotic week, surprised i managed to carve out enough time to finish it.

In the new year ill put a process slideshow of this piece.

While this is obviously true of AI, I really wish we would also do it with humans.

Too much of my career has been spent dissuading people of their over-confident guesses, or fixing the errors caused by them, when accepting a lack of knowledge and finding the real answer would have been far easier
LLM companies are open about prioritizing engagement over truthfulness. They know that if If LLMs say "I don't know" too much then ppl will stop using them.

These dynamics are absolutely toxic for research, where truthfulness is the highest priority.

if labour had focused on helping ppl instead of jumping through hoops for columnists they'd be a popular government.

there's a massive disconnect between what columnists write and what the average person thinks.

mostly columnists are just talking amongst themselves and they're all crazy.

If The Church of England (and the Catholic church, for that matter) stand for anything at all, they should disavow and excommunicate all of the fascist hatemongers who are currently infesting their pews.

You can't preach hate and claim Christianity. And these evil bastards will burn in hell

I have thoughts on the further twists and turns of the Netflix-Paramount-Warners saga:

Netflix very clearly intend to buy a legacy film studio. Given reports they've even considered a bid for Disney, it seems they want to diversify, and a purchase is inevitable...

The answer to this is really simple. Most people have a subject they understand well - either from work or from hobbies and interests. Get them to ask an LLI about that subject, then watch as they realise how incorrect the bullshit machine is for themselves.
pointing out that LLMs make shit up makes the people who use them feel stupid, and some of them would prefer to be lied to by an app that tells them they’re smart
So, when a critic says, “Ah hah! That app makes shit up!” A lot of people will nod politely. And then they will think to themselves, “Well, so does the newspaper, and so does Facebook, and so do politicians, and none of those help me do this task or say nice things to me when I ask them questions.”
